Another cracking shot. Swann has dismissed Hussey a couple of times this series, but Hussey still plays him very well.

There's still a little there if they get it right IMO. A hint of seam movement.

It's just Hussey's been so patient, just waited for something loose.

Yeah fair point, and if you're sweeping you expose yourself to the LBW if you misjudge it. Fair enough I guess.

Immaculate shot.

How awesome is Smith's follow through? Almost ends up behind his head!
Would look better if he kept it in front of his face tbh.

None of us would have thought that Tremlet could have moved that ball from a length. Batsman work the ball square all the time, but most do that after they get their eye in, which is what Hughes didn't do. Anyways this is just a small tactical mistake and has nothing to do with his technique.
Yes, because bowlers don't do that...Move the new ball off a length and stuff like that.

If Smith could perform a similar role to Symonds then I imagine the majority of Australian fans would be pleased. You can sense he is trying to score runs every delivery, it's bold but we are building our lead quickly.

Hussey has played so well again, and to think most Australians wanted him dropped 3 weeks ago.

Will Ponting declare tonight with a lead over 450 or will the horrors of Brisbane and Adelaide mean he bats on tomorrow?

I'd say this is a pretty horrible field and tactics but then I remember the atrocity that happened yesterday.

yeh this has been a free flowing, quick, attractive 30 odd.
far better than watching north get to 20 or so looking like *** and getting out.

with smith, like with symonds , you feel he can really go on and hurt you. thats what we need from a number 6.

England reverting to Bodyline.

And it works, embarrassing really. Strauss did everything except hand him a note with "This will be short" written on it.

Thought Smith looked alright too.
