*Official* India in South Africa

A drawn game with 2-3 days of play in overcast conditions is probably ideal for India. They get the match practice they badly need in bowler-friendly conditions and hopefully Zaheer will also recover and be fit for the next game.

AWTA.

We aren't known for starting well in series away from home anyway, so might as well hope for the weather to give us a helping hand here.

Neither are South Africa. Lost their opening home test matches to India, Australia (twice) and the West Indies in the past 4 years. Finish strong mind.

Didn't Pakistan win the 2nd match in 2007?

Isn't that mainly at home though? Because India are slow starters everywhere. Even when we win a test first up it usually contains some sort of collapse (Bangladesh earlier this year) lol

Haha, so true. In addition to the test match against Bangladesh, they nearly lost the first test to Australia as well. Also, India's two losses this year were both first tests (South Africa and Sri Lanka).

None of the left-handers in the South African side would disagree. The right-handers would disagree though, because Zaheer Khan is piss-poor against right-handers.

There is only two (batsmen) and one of them has a great home record against India/Zaheer.
