Laxman is not an all-time great, but his record of producing important/match-winning/match-saving runs has been amazing for India.

Laxman is not an ATG but India have always had the tendency to lolapse suddenly losing 2-4 wickets at once despite the insanely strong batting lineup. Laxman was always there for that situation. When Laxman goes, It'll become a lot more noticeable.

ikki, from the time he was kazoholic, and i have had long acrimonious debates in so many threads. he has promised to buy me a drink when i go to australia (didn't you, ikki?). and he will be my guest if he visits india. i have had less, but equally nasty, debates with migara too. learnt quite a bit from him as well. nice guys, both. they like to punch hard!

I just checked the fixtures. The second test apparently ends on dec 30 and the third starts on Dec 2. Seriously? Just 2 days?

It's that that unusual, if you look at previous series in South Africa and Australia you'll see that the gap between the Boxing Day and New Year's Tests often is only 2 days.

I'll be attending one, maybe two days of the Centurion test and am quite hopeful of getting to the Newlands test as well :happy:
