3 innings...Hughes had similar hype from CWers in 2009 and did absolutely nothing iirc.
And also on one of those innings I believe Strauss falsely claimed a catch, so he wasn't actually out.

I think if anything, that was the thing which was overhyped. But whatever the case, he has concentrated on improving that aspect of his game since. I think Strauss actually acknowledged that.3 innings, yes, but with a serious and obvious weakness against the short ball.
Yes he still plays for New South Wales, captains them also if memory serves me right. Can someone tell me if stuart clark is still active?
94 wickets @23.86 is impressive stuff!!!
You believe wrongly.3 innings...

Sounds like the sort of character that might come in handy right now for Australia. It's interesting, because (before his Test debut) there were ravings about him mentally. More in the fact that he never ever lets anything that has gone on the ball before affect him. You can see it in how, it doesn't matter how many times he's played and missed or whatever, when the ball is in his zone he still absolutely smashes it.
Yeah for all the talk of England having 'worked him out' I was quite happy to see him out of the side coming into this series, he certainly has something about him. Likely to always be a divisive player (Hayden) but think he will make a lot of test runs.Sounds like the sort of character that might come in handy right now for Australia.
The Official Home of Cricket AustraliaActually as of today he is averaging 42.29
He's also someone who averages over 50 in Test cricket.Hmm, Hughes is someone England feel they have a big psychological edge on.
To be fair the Aussies could easily have said the same about Alastair Cook 2 weeks ago and look what he has done this series.Hmm, Hughes is someone England feel they have a big psychological edge on.
Yeah, I haven't seen him bowl in a while but at the very least he does keep it tight more often then not. Although these days he would be behind Cameron and Copeland for test selection.Yes he still plays for New South Wales, captains them also if memory serves me right.
Has supposedly lost his nip, and ultimately is not as effective as he once was, though going off his stats this season he still looks to be a useful bowler, whether he's of Test standard now I don't know. Suppose it'd be like England going back to Matthew Hoggard if our attack was struggling.
Tbf, according to the Australian press, England are always roughly as bad as Bangladesh. As expected, the Aussie press is being utterly vicious.
The Ashes? Forget it - this side would be lucky to beat Bangladesh
