*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

He did well in India and his first innings failure at the Gabba was rendered irrelevant, so it's basically one match. He got a couple of pretty good balls as well, TBF. I'd be much angrier if he had got out pulling, or snicking down the legside, or run-out or something.
India was the best series he has played in a long while, in that he consistently got decent scores. However his series average was still only on par with his career average, and he failed to convert multiple 70's into bigger scores which were really needed at the time. First innings failure at the Gabba was irrelevant? C'mon, it was a dismissal like any other dismissal. No excuses. He indeed has got some good balls early on but so have heaps of the other batsmen from both sides. None so far should have been wicket balls imo.

Bit late for that, cheating tosser.:@
I can see why Clarke did what he did given the situation, but he looked a bit silly standing there knowing he had hit it. When the replay was about to come on, you could see him looking embarassed and shaking his head.

I reckon tmrw if rain takes away 45 overs, Australia win draw the match, but anything much less than that and we will be bowled out.

He was about to walk, didn't he? Then stopped for some reason.

Interesting that he apologised anyway.

EDIT: Through Twitter as well! Hmm, doesn't get more public than that.

Was really strange, wonder what would have happened without the review system.

98. Extra half hour at the start, remember?
Oh really? I thought they made up the time tonight. Thats sucks...Well if that's the case then, I think any more than 45 overs having to be played would be the end of us.

It really throws into light how stupid the selection of North really is. We should be hopeful of the prospect that we can add another 100-150 runs until England are bowling at the tail. A bit of luck and resistance in the tail, plus some help from the weather and we could escape this. Instead we're looking at essentially being one wicket away from a very long tail having to face a 5th day pitch. At that point only a steady downpour will save us.

I'm talking like the guy has failed already I know, I just don't have a shred of confidence in him. Prove me wrong Marcus, I beg you.

Fair enough, but he was always going to go playing from the crease like that. And we missed a whole session yesterday, so we'll still be 15 overs short or so.

Anyway I don't think you can complain about the quality of the cricket. The last two sessions - wow, riveting stuff.

Chuckling at the English fans who think there's any real chance of this not being a win for you lot. It's not going to rain for the whole day, and tbh I'll be fairly surprised if we make it far beyond lunch.

Well put, mate. If we had a proper #6 we'd be saying game on.

Yeah it has been a good contest, but from an Aussie's point of view it has been pretty nail-biting stuff - not exactly relaxing viewing! I imagine tmrw the pitch will be worse as well.

It's hard to see us surviving without Clarke out there, have to prey for the rain, though it seems to be coming down in quick bursts and then leaving, deserve to lose this anyway. If North tons up and saves the match he deserves his spot, he's heads on the copping block, and so's a test, to ton up under that pressure earns him a couple more shots. Unlikely with Swan there though.

I remember the thunderstorm at Brisbane which saved us was it 12 years ago?. If we get one like that tomorrow morning the whole day could be lost. I am not counting any chickens yet.
