Batted okay. Looked to me as if he'd be more suited to one-dayers than 20:20s. Mind you, making judgements off one innings is a bit harsh. How did Hakaraia go? Should've been given a game for Auckland years ago.
afaik he has a reputation for ridiculously fast scoring (I know you can't base much on this, but arguably his biggest claim to fame is still that he scored 300 in a single afternoon in under-18s cricket about a decade ago).Batted okay. Don't see the reason for the hate. We've got two imports, which is no more than anyone else. He was a ****ing gun too, 10 for 2 off 4, and 12 vital runs at the end to keep Wagner at bay. WAC (c is for champ).Damien Wright lining up for the Australlington Direbirds.
We have a few players like Rhodes and Merchant who hail from Aussie.Don't see the reason for the hate. We've got two imports, which is no more than anyone else. He was a ****ing gun too, 10 for 2 off 4, and 12 vital runs at the end to keep Wagner at bay. WAC (c is for champ).
Agreed with all of that except for Rhodes - he was the anchor around which Wellington paced their innings and it worked perfectly with hitters like Pollard and Nevin in the line-up. Had it not been for three wickets falling for no runs, Wellington would've cruised home since Otago finished at least 15-20 runs short of what they should've scored.Few things to note from this match:
Pollard looks awesome
Rhodes looks dire
Wagner's ball to get Woodcock was tremendous
Wagner looks pretty good
D Wright can bowl
L Wright rubbed butter on his fingers pre-match and a pot plant has stronger cricketing mentality
He's got a point, but the guy is a grade A **** and a hypocrite to boot. He's the captain who got an Aussie to come over for ONE GAME to play the Pearce Cup final. Turned up one Saturday morning, scored 130-odd and then ****ed off on the plane back to Aussie and did the same the following Saturday. **** your own players, Lance, the ones who've played the whole season for ya. If he's willing to do that for Easts, I have less than Zero sympathy for the guy. He's a bloody good player, mind...The identity of Heef is revealed!http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/cricket/4422613/Dry-puzzled-why-he-can-t-get-a-shot-at-home:ph34r:
Anyone on the Welly club scene (Heef?) got much to say for the dude? Reckon he suffers from being behind Patel, Woodcock, Houghton and Schaw personally.
Can't today - but interested in future games...Anyone else heading along to the Basin tomorrow?
I was impressed. He played some really fantastic shots, including one fabulous cover drive. But he struggled a bit against the pace of Milne. How did Hakaraia go? Should've been given a game for Auckland years ago.
Wouldn't be surprised. He didn't look like anything special. How'd Munro look?
Like he'll get the chop for Jimmeh?
Hopefully.
