**** me dead...glad we won the toss and got off to a good start!

Hopefully these two bat alright for a while and get us back on an even keel. How did Jimmy bowl? Juts got back home so missed the start.
Nigh on perfectly. Identical balls to Ponting and Clarke, full and an offstump line, moving away late enough to take a healthy edge.

Shot.

Finn looking a little short of Test class here, straining for pace and not hitting a consistent line and length. We maybe missed a trick not selecting Shahzad who offers something a bit different

He's trying to take a wicket every ball, hence the off-stump half-volleys

And he's fallen over

Meh. It's a personal thing. Just something stylistically about the way he drives and clips especially which I like a lot.
Yeah I can see why people like his style so much but it just doesn't do it for me, not quite sure why

We need Watson to not throw it away not as his his wont. Entering the danger area of 30+...

You just can't bring someone in from outside the squad like that.

right time to stop searching for wickets and start building pressure, nick one out before lunch and for goodness sake get a 3rd slip in

Bring Tremlett in for Finn and we are 10% stronger imo.

When Clarke was in form, he had the safest defense in world cricket imo, as was seen in the '09 Ashes.

That I can explain I think - very quick to spot the length, equally quick footwork and soft hands. Very, very soft hands, looks almost lazy in defence.

I will point out that thus far it's not been his defence that has been the problem.

Don't understand why so many here think Collingwood's technique is ugly...
 You've watched Collingwood bat right?

Everyone seems to think Swanneh on for a couple would be a good idea except the key man, Strauss, from the look of things.
