Hauritz responding in the best way possible. Hauritz has always been a confidence bowler, so it is quite a surprise to see him step up at this point.
Agree. I was bracing myself for a terrible performance made even worse by the fact he kept out SOK. Very pleased.

**** me some people change their tune quickly.
Tbf, most of the guys who have responded so far have been Ritz supporters, from memory.

Well, I still think he's a **** ****, if we're going to be honest. It just seems a bit bitter to point that out right after he's done the two things you've criticised him most for not being able to do - play well in Shield cricket, and bowl a side to victory on the last day.

Hauritz now has 31 wickets @ 38.22 for NSW, and a combined NSW/Qld record of 80 wickets @ 45.33. Still has work to do to make that not absolutely disagraceful, let alone justify playing over O'Keefe, but it's a start. :p

People are changing their tune to quick imo. He was dropped because he wasn't performing and supposedly didn't want to bowl to Ponting's plan. Doherty may not be the best choice but he hasn't really done that badly and has only had one test where ALL our bowlers performed badly in the second innings. Hauritz needs more good innings to make me consider selecting him, even then if Pontings pissy about him he may not get selected for a long time. I'd have rather seen O'Keefe play and get a 5 wicket haul, funny how when he takes bunches of wickets people say it was just the pitch or a **** opposition but now Hauritz has one good innings and he's the most talented spinner in Australia.

I can't translate that without evading the filter, but one's used an adjective and one's a noun.

For example..

Eg1: Australia has **** spin stocks.
Eg2: Andrew Symonds is a ****.

Nathan Hauritz is an Eg1 Eg2. :p
Can I buy a vowel?

Think it is his only one?
Considering it was his last FC match that would kind of imply that, yes :p

And who's saying he's the best spinner in Australia all of a sudden? It's just good to see that some test players, when dropped, still realise how to get back in the team.

O'Keefe will need to work on his batting now that Hauritz will be certain of a spot and given we got enough problems fitting all our pacemen in the side. O'Keefe over Henriques would be the way I go.

I think a very good case for him being the best spinner in Australia can be made at this stage.

I certainly wouldn't want Doherty dropped for anyone other than either Hauritz or O'Keefe.

I've always been a Hauritz supporter. I have always thought that he copped a lot of unwarranted crap for not being a huge turner of the ball when his real strength is his flight and accuracy - incidentally the two strengths that kept Warne in the team ahead of MacGill.

By "all of a sudden" I meant people who didn't think that previously.

I would like to know what you find so funny about this statement.

Do you not agree that Warne's flight and accuracy were what kept him ahead of MacGill in the pecking order, despite the fact that MacGill could turn the ball further?

In no way am I calling Hauritz the next Warne. All I am saying is that Hauritz uses flight well and is accurate, which are the two most important qualities for a spinner.

Anyway. Dan Christian doing just about all he humanly can to get a decent shot at international level.
You bet. Love his style a lot. Am so glad he's found a good home in SA, thought NSW buggered up badly when they dropped him. Could be a huge asset in our one day team, carefree and confident hitter, hits em so clean and long. Dont know about his bowling, gets carted a bit too much.
