Also, 6fer for Ryan Duffield in his 3rd match. What do we know about him?
Haven't seen a lot of him in this innings so he could've bowled a lot better than he has previously, but I don't think he's very good tbh. WA don't have a good attack, and I wouldn't pick him at full strength, which says something. Quite annoyed that NSW have imploded to such a meh bowler, to tell you the truth.

I love seeing all the old bowlers of domestic cricket doing so well, the likes of Clark and Wright are having fantastic seasons. I'm sure Denton will bounce back with another 5fer at some stage this season.

Hauritz doing all the right things. Keeping the pressure on. Doherty will need wickets, particularly with the 3rd test being at the WACA.

Hauritz could not have chosen a better venue to take a five wicket haul. He's really got to come into serious consideration for the third test, particularly if Doherty doesn't take any meaningful wickets again.

How the Australian selectors have treated Hauritz is an utter disgrace. He has been the most consistent spin bowler post-Warne and is quite handy with the bat. He's a class above all of the other spinners we've fielded with the possible exception of O'Keefe (but that's more a call based on potential than results at this stage).

The thing is that Hauritz does not look like a good spinner because people are used to seeing Warne turn the ball a mile. The thing is though, Warne got his wickets because of what he did through the air, not off the pitch. Hauritz has both very good control and flights the ball well, which is far more important than turn. Sure, he's not as good as Warne, but noone is expecting him to be. He's a quality offspinner who will always have a steady low-30s bowling average and decent economy. Dumping him was a mistake.

Horror Hauritz - you gun!!

That's the Hayden way - shut up, and then go bust the door to the Aussie team off its hinges with domestic performances.

Not enough players do it anymore.

Hauritz responding in the best way possible. Hauritz has always been a confidence bowler, so it is quite a surprise to see him step up at this point.

His haul is one of the few bowling performances of note by the spin bowlers this season. A quick summary:

Pace: Number of 5 WI
Faulkner x 2
Swan x 2
Cameron x 2
Harris
Watson
Duffield
George
Copeland
Butterworth
Pattinson
Wright
Walter
Johnson
Cassell

Spin:
Hauritz
Doherty

Very impressed by Hauritz's come back. Don't think anyone gave him a real chance but he's followed the Hayden/Clarke school of thought when it comes to getting dropped - beat down the bloody door as soon as humanly possible.

This is his first non-test FC 5-for isn't it?

What is the keeping situation in NSW at the moment?

Is Nevill in front in just the 4 day stuff, or in all the forms?
Yeah seems to be ahead for the 4 day and one day stuff - had a decent grade season last year and took his chance in the Shield at the end of last summer when Smith was injured.

Looks like he's improved his batting a fair bit but still probably not as destructive as Smith, although his keeping is far better. Reckon Smith will get a run in the T20's though, which is a shame cause he couldn't catch a cold.
