Serves Tasmania right for essentially picking bowlers (and a keeper who bats below bowlers) from six down. Terribly balanced team. They'll now be relying on them to take them home with the bat. Drew is definitely surplus to requirements when you think they could've picked Birt.

Agreed, Although if Paine was playing not Jones the balance would look a fair bit better.

I would play Birt in front of Wells and Doolan. Really want Bailey to ton up..

Yeah I agree, but with Paine out they can't really afford to have Faulkner batting six. They can either give Doolan or Birt the gloves or they can play four bowlers. Now that I've said that, the tail will probably take them home, but it's still not a good idea IMO.

Thought nsw would make the shield final after the first 2 games,but their batting been crap since,khawjah can't score a runs since his 200 and 66,and the rest is inconsistent.

takes a while to get started but once he does, he scores very quickly also has a lovely cover drive.

O'keefe is like an extra batsmen,no way hauritz should have been included over him.

Yeah, there's no reason for Hauritz to be playing AFAIC. We weren't picking him when Australia picked him to begin with, and they've since decided he's not good enough for them. Meanwhile he's been dire whenever he's played for us, and the bloke we've dropped to keep him in the side was averaging 50 with the bat and 25 with the ball. He better take a stack of wickets in this game or he should really be on the outer.

Ever since Optus stopped showing the Shield matches in 2002 ive been emailing Fox, a few emails every season.
