If White and Smith are anything to go by, I wouldn't put it past them.North took more wickets and scored more runs than Johnson tbf. Based on the evidence of this Test he should be batting eight as the spinner in Adelaide.

North's a better bowler than both; would be an upgrade. If White and Smith are anything to go by, I wouldn't put it past them.
North outbowled him, then again he was gifted that wicket anyway.Wow, looks like the Mitchell did so badly, everyone's forgotten how much they hate Marcus North.
We've had our moments (when we had your chaps 143/5 we might've harboured ambitions of a first innings lead), but generally I reckon the team that concedes the 200+ first innings lead is going to be happier with the draw.Yes, but you shouldn't have been skittled for 260 with batting conditions really not that tough. You can kind of spin this any way you like but England should rue not going 1-0 up, just like Australia should.
You do realise Australia were 5/130 at one point? Not really. We were skittled for 260 and you ended with a 200 run lead.At the end of day 3 Australia were firm favourites to go 1 up,at no stage of the game could you say England were firm favourites to win.
Once more we have shown we are a stubborn side,it may go belly up tomorrow but we have shown today we have some fight in our ranks and are up for the challenge.
Who says there is a plan? The other quicks apart from Bollinger have all been guilty of leaking runs and not bowling to the plan
Clearly, but it wouldn't make sense that only Australia would be disappointed with the result. England had the opportunity to skittle us for well under 200.We've had our moments (when we had your chaps 143/5 we might've harboured ambitions of a first innings lead), but generally I reckon the team that concedes the 200+ first innings lead is going to be happier with the draw.
It isn't Cardiff but it is a game that 9/10 you would expect to win.Any side having a 200 run lead with 2 days to go should expect to win the match.Yeah for some to claim that this is 2010's Cardiff is a bit odd. The only way you're getting that psychological advantage is by declaring and bowling us out.
Yeah and still had 2 bats at the crease and an allrounder to come so it wasn't as if we were through to the tail. You do realise Australia were 5/130 at one point?
Given his primal reaction to Johnson's drop it appears the hilt has an end when he backs someone to it, and that he's finally lost patience with what has openly been described (tho obv. not by him) as a special project of his. He had no compunction about cutting Symonds loose after he literally pissed away the flowering Test career that Ponting fought so hard to get for him, either. He usually does have quite a tight grip on the plot in that respect, but it's loosened a little recently from what I've seen. His public "Hauritz sets his own fields" protestation was either self-serving or disingenuous and in either event hung poor Doogie rather out to dry and turning to Watson before Johnson probably sent something of an interesting message to his putative spearhead too.
Allrounder? Johnson?Yeah and still had 2 bats at the crease and an allrounder to come so it wasn't as if we were through to the tail.
That is what he gets hyped up as because he has a test ton.Allrounder? Johnson?
The point is, both sides should be disappointed that they didn't press on with their opportunities.
I don't think anyone here with any sense labels Johnson as an allrounderThat is what he gets hyped up as because he has a test ton.
Yep, it's just spin really. We made a lot of runs, then they made a lot of runs, that's all that happened here, really. Because England couldn't do it on the first day they now have the psychological advantage....Not if you can't bowl them out... If we can get 480 then so can you.
I don't see where this supposed "psychological advantage" comes from. Yes, a 200+ lead means it's tough to lose, but with 2 days to go the win is by no means certain.
but he hitz sixxezzszi don't think anyone here with any sense labels johnson as an allrounder
