Well what about the rest of his career then? It's not like it's his first good match - he's played 28 Tests and averages 40+. He's a quality bat for someone who bats seven and keeps to a decent standard. Of those who have kept in as many games as him, he has the fifth best average of all time.

You can have doubts about his keeping (I don't, personally, but that's because I've seen a lot more of him at state level - he's underachieved in Tests a little with the gloves so far), but he's definitely a better keeper than Prior and Flower for example - two of the only four above him, and his batting isn't "average".

The one in the Yellow & Green bikini? Freaking awseome.
Not sure whether that bit or the reaction shot of chimpy jumping up and down in anger at first slip after Johnson's butterfingers has been my favourite bit of Channel 9's camerawork today.

Any chance that Johnson will get dropped for Bollinger for the next test? Will improve the bowling but give Australia a really long tail.

TBH given Johnson's test batting ATM you're not losing a whole lot. Maybe 50 runs every 5 matches.

Now i know Ian Bell was the original Shermanator but Doherty is a much better lookalike and the fact he still looks about 12 makes it even better.

Once he gets into a spell or is pumped up he gets to 145.

Doherty is bowling fairly well here.

Yeah, not a big believer in picking a bowler for his batting either. Was viewed as a joke when England went for Giles over Monty a few years back, don't see why it should be any different.

Your bowler's no.1 job is to bowl (well). Your top order should be getting most of the runs. If bowling ability is very similar, maybe then batting comes into it.

Knowing our selectors there's more chance of Siddle getting dropped.
