I like mixing those sorts of deliveries in to Katich. He moves so far with his initial movement that he struggles to move his feet again, and at times he can end up stretching for full wide deliveries and edging to slip. I wouldn't bowl there consistently, but it's worth mixing the odd one in.

Think the commentators on the money, probably a run there. Katich could've shaken his hand, should've pushed off Watson to turn around and get back quicker.

So why is Cook so abysmal on the front foot? Dont recall many if any England batsmen who were so poor when faced with a juicy half volley. Gooch is his batting coach, he thundered anything pitched up with that humungous bat of his, you'd figure Cook has a pretty good batting coach, yet his front foot laziness hasnt improved at all since his debuted. Defending half volleys on the back foot?? Richie Richardson and Viv played half volleys off the back foot too but you had to rip apart the boundary fence to retrieve the ball afterwards.

Having said that, Katich is mostly the same, looks all at sea when faced with a half volley.

Another good over from Broad. Been impressive so far, Jimmeh just needs to sort his line and length out.
Think Broad has benefitted from bowling more to the right hander would say in these conditions (little movement) both bowlers prefer the righties.

That is a beauty from Broad. Been an impressive start from him, positive signs. Just hope Finn bowls well when he gets the chance, I'm not particularly optimistic however. Could definitely see Tremlett replacing him by the end of the series.

Can see Anderson getting the arse before Finn TBH.

England have been good over the last four or so overs. Would be disappointed that they didn't do it from the start of the day.

Pretty sure Jimmeh got him there last Ashes series. It's for that little clip off his pads he plays, can sometimes go in the air.

Why the leg slip for Katich has he ever got out there before?
He's a fine-leg whore, half the reason he shuffles is to change the ball's line to hit it there.

Doesn't need to be there for catching, just to give him second thoughts.
