*Official* First Test at the Gabba

Meh. It was neither a good nor bad decision really - if Trott had been given out and referred it, the decision would've been upheld and people would be saying the same thing. Umpires do get unfair stick at times but he couldn't actually get that one wrong as such.

Personally I'd like to see all of those given out in Tests but that's an argument for another day.
No, the decision would have over turned sicne the ball was missing leg....BTW, why no indian umpires in the elite panel???

Would like to see Trott made to play everything through the off-side for the next 30 mins or so. Good line by Siddle. The odd short ball just outside off so he can practice his pull-shot would be good too.
I'd attack the stumps for a little while longer, to be honest. Whenever he's had lean patches in county cricket, he's been really susceptible to playing across his pad and getting out lbw. Doesn't do it after he's set though and is a gorgeous on-side player so it can cost runs. One thing I think everyone can agree on though is that he can't pull.

Has Punter used the UDRS before? Never going to get those marginals overturned.
Think there's a fair argument that it wasn't going to be that marginal. Think it jagged back off the seam a bit, which saw it heading down leg-side a bit (probably led to Trott missing it) which would have been difficult to pick up with the ball being so full.

No, EagleEye showed the ball clipping leg, but because only a small portion of it was doing so, the original decision was upheld.

Also, take this as an official warning to stop the anti-India trolling please. India has nothing to do with this -if you keep bringing them up all the time for no reason you'll find yourself banned.

Heading down was my first shout, I have to be honest.

9's graphics made my arse skip a beat tho, tbf.

The glory of Christmas! I can spend an enormous amount of money on gifts for people and then place an equally enormous bet that Andrew Strauss will play like **** and earn all of that money spent back in the span of 3 deliveries. I can also bet that Salman Butt will have some kind of influence on the game and the early need for sawdust thanks to possible wicket-tampering is making my account break even very nicely.

Don't think it's worth doing every second ball though. Admittedly, Hilf is allowing for some outswing when he ends up on leg-stump.

Outswing bowlers are always susceptible to being worked off the pads, though. It's part of the deal. Better Hilf is searching for it than sitting back of a length and being let go every ball, tbh.

Yeah, true.

Mitch to take 7 wickets in the first over, 1 a run out off a no ball.

Edit: Better make that two run outs...two no balls.
