***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2010/11

I still believe Mitch Marsh as a bowler has greater potential that Henriques.
Would agree there, hes got that extra yard of pace which makes his bowling good enough to be picked for it alone. I'd say both are about the same in the batting stakes atm, both being let down by concentration as their techniques both look very solid.

A good game, Hayden getting into the spirit of things.

We didn't learn much new about our Twenty20 players. Most of the big guns played well, i.e Hodge, Hussey and Warner. Few other players showed much,O'Brien bowled well but I don't think he is the answer to Australia's T20 woes.
What T20 woes? 2nd in the WC not good enough?

O'Brien didn't cop the wraps at all but performed with the ball as always. Him and Christian are such solid domestic players.

Matt Wade may well be the Number 2 keeper in this country. Tough luck for Paine.
Frankly speaking I just can't understand what's all this fuss surrounding Paine, he is a good honest cricketer but he isn't a long term gun prospect like many ''experts'' make him to be.
For me from whatever I've seen Wade has got good solid glovework and as a batsman he is virtually a pocket size dynamite and whatever the format he would be my no.2 keeper after Haddin, regardless of the fact whether Paine is fit or injured.

I think Lynn Hartley and Hopes are doing quite well with the bat lately.

Carseldine IMO would benefit from a move down the order so I'm disappointed he was the player dropped as moving Lynn up to 3 and Dunk potentially up to 4 could be too soon, but hopefully not.

BTW does anyone know anything about the new guy selected in our Ryobi team?

Haha. Yeah it's true, but I still say it's better than being knocked out in the first round like 2009, or beaten by the Zimbos in 07.

But anyway, who cares about T20Is? They should keep T20 to franchises/states/counties/provinces only IMHO. T20Is prove nothing.

Chuck Clarke out of the team and half our problems would be resolved!!

Jayde Herrick of Victorian Second XI fame was called up to play one game for Wellington amidst their injury crisis. Got absolutely hammered by Craig Cumming in his first spell but came back well to take two in the first innings, and has taken two early ones in the second dig.

Anyone (Jack?) know much about him?

Wow, that's amazing. He's a different unit, lives up to most Frankston stereotypes. Bowls at decentish pace, tends to bowl short of a length, push you back all the time, and then go for the yorker.

Cricket Victoria would be very happy with Alex Keath over the past week. A ton on the weekend for Melbourne CC, matched by a massive ton against WA in the Futures League.

Hodge with another hundred, Harris with more wickets

How hard could it possibly be to be an Oz selector?

It's pretty hard, you need to keep update with who is friends with who at the time, who is on someones black list, who is having a lovers quarrel. Alot of ins and outs to be aware of.

With Bollinger back the NSW selectors get a headache as to who to leave out. I think i saw Cameron was tipped to miss out in the paper this morning, very harsh, especially as he is a better bowler then Siddle.

Good on the Vics for picking him, hope he does well!

Such a shame for O'keefe that he's not in the 4 day team for NSW, also I kind of wish Khawaja got to play some one day cricket, I'm sure he could become a good OD player despite starting slowly.
