Worrying thing is, watching Arsenal, Fabregas is generally fantastic, Nasri is peaking, Chamach (?) is finally providing a good strike option for them. Rosicsky and Walcott are looking great.... If it can all gel then they've got to be strong contenders this year.
But the 6 players behind them are the major problem for them.

Gareth Bale's finish for Spurs's first was a work of art.
Its quite scary how much he's come along in the last year and a bit. His first touch and control are something else. Looks completely natural with the ball at his feet.

Mind you, so does Rooney when he's on form, and he's proof that when form and confidence goes, lead boots belong to anyone....

Yeah that's so true. First touch and control is also generally much better when a player's having a solid run in the side. A lot of niggly injuries and an insecure place in the side can make someone look a lot worse than they are when they do get a game. Could well have been the case with Bale for the start of his Spurs career.

Have to agree - when a referee gets criticised for to overturning his own call when he's proven to be correct to not give the penalty it's a stupid situation.

****en classic Denilson for Bale's goal. Heh. Never fails to amaze.

Just jog along while being oblivious to everything that's going on around you. Wanna track van der Vaart? Nah man. Wanna track Bale? Nup.

**** this guy off asap. Hate him so much. Ramsey as well on his ay to burying this guy last season.

edit: Him and Clichy can sabotage this team at any moment possible.

In fairness to Celtic, they've got a legitimate gripe about that one, because the referee and linesman involved lied to Lennon about why they overturned their decision. Given that the penalty was awarded in the first place, Lennon has the right to ask the referee what went on, and I don't think it's too much to ask for the referee to be honest with him. What Lennon and Celtic have been wrong in doing is questioning the referee's integrity.

Since then though, we've had:

Neil Lennon criticising the referee's performance in the first Old Firm game and moaning about the fact the referee had too much pressure on him in the lead up - even though all the pressure on the referee beforehand came from Celtic.

Lennon abusing the fourth official at Tynecastle and being sent to the stand. After the game, Lennon questions why he was sent to the stand and states he'll be writing to the SFA for clarification.

In the aftermath of the same game, Lennon criticised the referee for sending off Joe Ledley, stating "it wasn't even a foul." However, Celtic opted not to appeal against Ledley's sending off.

Gary Hooper at a press conference claiming that referees were biased against Celtic, and an attempt by Celtic to persuade the press not to report what was said. Since that interview, Hooper has been booked 3 times in 3 games - the same number of bookings he picked up in his entire career at S****horpe. Celtic intimated at the weekend they would be complaining to the SFA about that, as to them it looked like Hooper was being victimised for what he said - which completely ignores the fact that Hooper got booked against Hearts for diving to try and win a penalty, and got booked against St Mirren for running into the crowd after scoring a last minute winner - offences which would have got him booked in any league in the world.

Lennon also questioned the award of the free kick which led to Dundee Utd's equaliser at the weekend.

The chief executive and chairman have also make remarks at the club's recent AGM that have severely criticised referees. This season is being turned into a farce - every single time Celtic have dropped points, there's been a moan about referees to go with it. It is quite clear what they're up to, and they should have been sanctioned long ago for it.

Does that link show his wonderful ball watching down the field and somehow managing to not get near any of the three players that had the ball on route to scoring the first goal, despite being in the middle of them all? Coaster, liability, obviously doesn't give a ****. Get rid.

Also van Persie's been in full training for three weeks, on the bench for the last four games, and played 45 minutes for the Netherlands a week ago, and he's still not match fit. Leaving Bendtner out of the squad for this crock? Wouldn't shed a tear if we were shot of Robin either. Will never happen though.

I can't believe Denilson gets a starting spot at Arsenal it's like Bentley *shudders* starts for us.

I don't get the Clichy dislike though, perhaps it's because I don't mind seeing Gunners letting in goals.

Also I think Wenger turned out correct not going for Schwarzer, he's been quite average for Fulham this season.

I'd agree that not going for Schwarzer was the right decision, but failing to sign a goalkeeper at all was a mistake, and a big one.

Edit: Though the fact that Szcesny has just signed a new long term deal makes me wonder what the intentions of the club are in this regard. Seems like Almunia and Fabianski will be persevered with until the end of this season at least, but Szcesny has clearly been earmarked as one for the future, so I expect any major signing in this position is unlikely. Really hope the young guy can deliver, not like he can do much worse than the current clowns mind you. Just hope he is ready sooner rather than later. Put him in Arsene.

Need to stick Koscielny in the gym or something as well, just not strong enough at the moment. Coupled with a lack of height this makes him a worry, even though he has looked mostly quite reasonable so far.
