*Official* New Zealand in India 2010

Whatever it takes!!!
honestly we have nothing to be angry about. we played way better than australia did in the first 2 games and if not for the injuries we probably would have won this game easy.
lol.. a 300 run lead is a bit too much to be blamed away on a couple of injuries.

Can't think of one session NZ have won in this Test TBF. Though they did do very well in the first two, and this one isn't over yet.

It's so depressing that we can dominate large chunks of games and yet lose the series basically on the back of one **** session. Reckon we'll lose this by an innings, and it's all anyone (particularly the talkback muppet crowd) will remember.

On a different note really dreading the "NZ scrapped hard, never gave up, worked together as a team but were eventually overwhelmed" articles that are going to be appearing on Cricinfo in the next few days.
lol.. on the second para.. any part of it is not true?

It's the usual backhanded complement given to NZ when we lose games. Put it this way - if NZ were in India's position in this test, and went on to win, would you hear that India scrapped hard in the series before being overwhelmed?

If it hadn't been for these injuries, we'd already have declared with a 400-run lead...

Tought on Dhoni, but you can't help but feel that given that he'd already been dropped of Dan's bowling, the wicket was deserved.

Yeah Dhoni was certainly streaky in the early part of his innings. Would rather he played that way taking a few risks rather than stonewall, though.

Nah, but you'd hear NZ worked hard, scrapped well and their good team spirit earned them an honest victory.

But yes, looking forward to the cliches and stereotypes symptomatic of lazy journalism incoming after this loss. The horrible thing is I betcha parts of the NZ heirachy will be satisfied with 1-0 series defeat. It's better than expected true, but I hardly feel satisfied.

Anyway, hoping we can add some respectability to this test in the second innings. Not holding my breath though because T Mac is prone to century or bust and that could mean Martin "I average twenty ****ing six for Auckland and I'm in the test side" Guptill will be in early.

Really hope Taylor can find some form on this tour. Deserves to cash in on a flat pitch after all the good work he's done in the past couple of years.

Hope Dravid goes for his triple tbh. He's a gun and deserves it, and he also buys New Zealand time.:p

Going to need another huge effort with the bat, and for the top four to step up as a unit rather than one or two guys doing well.

Not Terrible
A drawn series would be dire. Go down in a blaze of match winning glory. T Mac to hit 50 (50), socks to be blown off CW-wide.

I'd be surprised if Dhoni didn't declare and give his bowlers ten overs at the NZ top order tonight. And I'm sure many Indian posters would complain bitterly too!

In an odd sort of way I'm looking forward to us batting again. Even though I know we have a horrible record in this situation and would need at least two sessions rained out to have a chance of drawing the match, I'm keen to see a few batsmen show some strength and score some runs.
