Raina is ****ing clueless at playing well directed short-pitched bowling. He should take some pointers from Gambhir, who is awful at pulling and hooking, but has very good technique at leaving the short ones. You don't have to be a great puller to be a good player of short-pitched bowling.

Eh it's not as easy to do tbh. Gambhir is very quick and nimble. Raina's high back lift and style of play doesn't quite allow him to duck asap. There are a lot of similarities between Raina and Ganguly.. both awesome on the off-side and suck at playing short pitch bowling. I reckon Raina will have a similar carrier.

Raina is not as good as ganguly on the off, and better than ganguly in the leg side. But I agree, there are quite a few similarities between them.

I'm almost starting to think this too, but you can't really be too hard on him for struggling in India. Best batting lineup in the world + perfect batting tracks + 35 degree heat is hard on anyone, especialy an inexperienced cricketer like Southee. I don't think he's done too badly given the circumstances. Whether or not he would be better served in domestic cricket is a matter of conjecture.
