Are you saying that Sri Lanka put up 400-500 in just 2-3 sessions at the most???? That might be too much to ask actually. I think it is the right decision.
Bahnz is right about the bowlers tiring, but as I said earlier if WI didn't enforce, they'd need to score something like 170 off 35 overs & declare setting SL 350ish & having 2-3 overs at them tonight. If the wicket isn't likely to deteriorate as vcs suggested, then enforcing is likely the best option.

Yeah, I made that comment believing this was the 3rd day for some reason. Nah, no way SL can win this, it'll be a draw or a loss.

A few dark clouds are in the background there!!.. if rain were to come in the next hour who would that benefit us or them?

You should ideally hope for overcast conditions without rain and just enough light to play on. That way the bowlers will be fresh for longer and the quicks will get some movement.

Obviously them, they'll be effectively trying to save the match, any overs lost will obviously help SL do that, unless of course the pitch changes dramatically from sweating under the covers after a short rain-break, but unlikely

Windies not bowling too badly here, but this pitch is still extremely flat. Really offering little asisstance

So does anyone think we can chase down 200 tomorrow? is it possible? i'd love a wicket or two today but if not we'll have to come out all guns blazing in the morning.

Doubt it, 200 would be pretty hard in 5th day wicky. Not impossible but highly improbable.

The problem is not as much in WI chasing 200 but more on how do they plan to get SL all out?? They don't have a wicket in the first 22 overs. Unless somebody bowls an Ambroesque spell I don't see any result in the match.

Still favourable to batsmen but definitely not flat. A Murali or a Warne wouldn't be too easy to face on this pitch. Even spinners like Mendis who dont turn it too much were getting some reasonable spin. Remains to be seen what the condition is like on the last day though. Usually it starts breaking up a bit.

Well play has been called off now so we're still ahead!!.. the only glimmer of hope i have is we took seven wickets today before tea when the lads were fresh!!.. a good rest tonight and new plans in place for tomorrow and i guess anything is possible, the fact that we made them follow on in the first place was a miracle in the first place,

We'll certainly need to get some early wickets though that's for sure, someone will need to step up big time, looking ahead though i'm excited about the prospect of Shilly and Benn teaming up again, they caused SA all sorts of problems and i see them doing the same to SL, Benn will give our bowling unit another danger man cause right now we're only counting on Roach and Shilly,

I'm also a little disappointed in Russell, he's done ok but we expect a little more from him, i think Pascal may come in for the next test and he's a fast kid himself who can swing the ball.

This pitch is still easy to bat on. I haven't really seen anything out of the ordinary. The spin isn't hooping around or anything
And I didn't say the ball is turning miles either. Just that it isn't extremely flat. Decent batting track, yes.

Russell has definitely looked a bit raw but there's more to him than Pascal at the moment IMO; I'd give him a more extended run.
