Looks like he's going OK this year, at least, but be interesting to see whether SA start giving him some time in the Futures League, which I don't think they've done thus far.

Nope, hasn't had a go at all and I don't think he will this season. He's almost been shunned. Get the feeling Bailey will monopolise the Futures spot anyway.

Not like he's demanding selection though, going for over 34 per wicket in Adelaide grade cricket is pretty average. If a nuffy like Munday can come here and average about 15 with the ball, hell.......

Cassel just took his 6th. Was looking dodgy for a while there but SA with 2 points.

Yeah, he's going at about 12 this season though. :)

Cullen's averaging 15 this season though so might've rediscovered something. Early days though obviously so it'd be a bit reactionary to give him a Futures game based on that.

Yeah just had a look, 8 wickets in 4 games. A 5-fer would be a boost for his selection chances I'm sure. Get the feeling he'd probably only need a couple of decent spells to get a Ryobi Cup game but a SS spot probably isn't an option unless he's destroying grade sides.

Smith out for a blob, now SA 2/8. Surely can't be too many more seasons before SACA drop him.

Both your openers have been terrible all season. It's not like Smith has heaps of credit in the bank from previous seasons either although admittedly he's a local boy and 22 so he might get Ferguson'd.

*will. I mean, he scored one whole ton last year!

Tom Moffat's hitting runs in grade and Futures but probably not enough of those 50's have been converted to really push for a spot.

SA 3/10. Oye. Swan with 9 in the game so far.

Well Cullen's decline is why SA signed Lyon. They're also paying for Lyon to play Futures for Canberra too, so he's not completely out of the loop.

huh?

Well he is still not getting on top of the pull-shot. Had his share of luck this innings too. Both of these batsmen have. Is it still a mine-field there?
It must be. If NSW were bowled for less than 200 again, something must be going on with the pitch. Although I have to say the weather in sydney today hasn't been very overcast for the most part.

16 wickets at 34 in grade cricket last year for Cullen says otherwise.
Confidence plays a huge part in a spinners development and evolution, likes of Cullen and Bailey haven't been shown much love by the Redbacks, the moment they have had a bad game or two they have been dropped.
IIRC, Bailey took a 5-fer last season and was looking good, so why is he even not being considered this season?

Clark's not a bad comparison, but he bowls a little fuller and gets a lot more movement through the air before it pitches. If he can take almost 100 Test wickets @ 23 I'm sure most people would take that, though, so it's hardly like being compared to Clark is a bad thing.
Clark took most of his wickets because of the slight extra bounce and nip he produced through his wrist action but still on dry flat tracks, Clark really didn't have much up his sleeve to work a batsman over. I hope that's not the case with Copeland.

Apparently Ponting gone for 27 again with the pull shot. Watson bowling...

I'm very close to believing Ponting is finished as a dominant world-class player.
