You'll never guess what attributes Cricinfo says earned NZ these two draws.

India v New Zealand: New Zealand's grit holds them in good stead | Cricket Features | India v New Zealand | ESPN Cricinfo

I know we're pretty ****, but can we please stop trotting out the hard working honest triers with great team spirit cliche's? Not only is it boring but it's lazy journalism.
Couldn't agree more. Everyone likes the underdogs but ffs, from that article you'd think Sehwag just kept punching Kane Williamson in the face or something.

I reckon a bunch of you NZ posters should send them feedback letting them know they've read this a million times and its patronising and boring. May have an impact, who knows.
As though professional writers actually read online comments. There's so much sewage in the cricinfo comments section that any sort of point is immediately drowned in the sea of ****.

ODI squad's been announced:

Squad: Daniel Vettori (capt), Grant Elliott, Martin Guptill, Gareth Hopkins, Jamie How, Brendon McCullum (wk), Nathan McCullum, Andy McKay, Kyle Mills, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Scott Styris, Ross Taylor, Daryl Tuffey, Kane Williamson

Styris, Guptill and How in, Watling, Stewart and Bennett out.

I don't think we could really have played a better squad than that.

Are you hating on the cliches or calling them out on incorrectly referring to the Kiwis as hard working triers?

No I meant official email feedback to the website.

calling this NZL side as just hard working triers is quite wrong actually guys like Taylor,Ryder,Williamson,Guptill,Mccullum are all excellent cricketers and performing to their talents for once.

Don't think it would change anything. I've noticed Cricinfo like their cliches for all the teams.

Fair enough, but only answers half the mystery, the explanation for so few bowling averages under 30?
They just suck. Sreesanth is just TOOOOO inconsistent- balls too many freebies- has no patience. Harbhajan bowls too flat so he no longger gets much spin (more of a limited overs cricket bowler). Ohja is more like a part-timer.
The only decent bowler Zaheer gets injured after ever 2/3 tests.
And something seems to have gone wrong with Sharma's wrist position.
Look even raina's getting wickets so it clearly suggests that the specialist spinners are bowling pies.

 Yeah India are quaking in the boots at the prospect of Jeets. :p
Jeets gives the ball quite a bit of air so he'd be a handful on that.
However, I'd be surprised if they prepared a pitch like that. The pitch would probably just have more in it for the bowlers.

Taylor performing to his talents? A double hundred to McCullum, tons to McKintosh, Ryder and Williamson - fair to say that I don't think Taylor has played to his potential.

As I said about Williamson, he has a good technique but doesn't know how to use it.
This comment literally doesn't make sense - and I've seen you post it at least two or three times now. Perhaps if Williamson didn't have the record he had it might make sense but he's been scoring runs in domestic cricket for close to three years now and is averaging just a tick under 50 (in both forms) as a result.

Hoping a raging turner will be set for the final test. Would rather we lose but bowl India out for <300 a couple of times than play yet another draw. Want to see a bowling dominated match.
