I like the way that you repeatedly say that their test status was called into question it and shouldn't be forgotten about. But that wasn't us who called into question their status which then doesn't make it a logical argument to use it as something to prove they haven't improved and that us saying they have improved is a knee jerk reaction. You'd have a slight case if we had been slagging them off saying they should be playing then after one series changed our minds but we simply haven't.

Take you issue up with those who may have suggested they shouldn't have the aforementioned status not those who didn't in the first place.

Like I said before to Athalia or what ever his name is:

I don't care what the opinions were from some specific posters here, I am saying the belief in general were that Bangladesh were not improving at all and need to have it's Test status removed.

And some of you could have agreed or disagreed with those belief's at the time, I don't care. What my point is it is a knee-jerk reaction from all of you to even forget those calls were being made in the first place, not that if you agreed with them or not.

How is it a knee jerk reaction for me to think that Bangladesh are improving because someone else who I completely disagree with decided they think Bangladesh shouldn't have test status?

I can see there has been s steady improvement of the squad since the first time I saw them in 2005 where they were awful. Now they're just starting to really challenge some of the lower ranked teams in the world. New Zealand and West Indies (no offence intended to either team)

It doesn't matter if you disagree with them or not. They were still there, and from some notable people too.

What some people have posted here seems like those events never happened.

Except of course Social who actually remembers the direness of BD against England.

I couldn't care if notable people have come out against Bangladesh I firmly disagree with the notion that they haven't been progressively improving since their inception. I remember how Bangladesh played against England and they had large periods where they really competed fiercely in comparison to the series back in 05 where they looked perplexed by the idea of bowling and batting.

No offence to NZ and WI because its not particularly nice to basically say their teams are/were ****.

I respect your opinion. Just saying those calls were there and now suddenly people are posting like BD played the best cricket of their lives in the past year. That is what I mean by knee-jerk reactions.

New Zealand were the no.2 ODI side in the world last year with pretty much the same team. Now they are **** suddenly? Crap.

In said series yes, hence the "was/were".

I don't understand how you can claim it to be a knee jerk reaction if I say that I believe that Bangladesh have played the best cricket they have done during their tenure as a Test match team. It would be a knee jerk reaction should one of those who wanted their status to be scrapped was to suddenly turn around and say they're doing excellently.

NZ lost 3 matches by 9 runs and less. Series could have easily have been 3-1. New Zealand were outplayed by Bangladesh but we didn't entirely go missing.

True but for a team whom were ranked number two as recently as a year or so ago they still were pretty dire.

I agree with you but I am talking about a knee-jerk reaction about a different thing: About that those calls didn't exist in the first place, and oh boy they sure did.

@Inny Binny: That chart shows what really? You need that orange and blue line to be more closer to each other, not a 2x margin.

That's nonsense. Progress this year from when they last came this way was massive. Still a lot of work to do, but actually made us work for the victory. That's progress...

They made Australia work for a victory in 06 when we had a kick ass side.
