Really, it's not just the current bunch of selectors; look at Bevan for example. There's a part of the Australian cricketing pysche, established around the Border period coming out of years of torment from the Windies, that demands tough hard cricketers, and not being able to cope with the short ball doesn't fit in with that ethos.

It's interesting then that the chairman of selectors was so average against the short ones then.

Well there's a Khawaja pull shot... I sort of see what everyone means. Plenty of shades of a LH-Ponting in that.

Agreed.

Looking more closely Clarke and Khawaja have totally different styles. Khawaja likes to stay on the back-foot and wait for anything short while Clarke is a much more all-round player and looking to score.

Well... I'd agree that Khawaja is a more back-foot player and Clarke front-foot but it's a bit early to be making that call..

Deep point lol

That's about five rank-long hops from Holland to Clarke that have gone to him

Edit: This outfield still looks a little slow I feel

Just got home, had to leave 3ish. Another great day, beautiful sunshine. Ronald batted so well. And some of Cameron's deliveries were scary, even from the stands, haha.

I see Harris has taken 5! Loving life.
