the law of averages meant this was always on the cards, Pakistan never wins a decider unless it bats first.

When was the last time we beat SA in a series anyways......quite long i bet.or could be never..so where the heck is the law of averages when it comes to that stat?

I am going to make a wild guess....Afridi will announce his retirement from captaincy soon...and YK might return as a captain again....just speculating...

By the way how was Umar Akmal's keeping today?

Never in a bilateral ODI series.

Robbie P was impressive last night, first up when he had Akmal PLUMB LBW and then backed it up during the PP. Strange that Johan Botha who has enjoyed success against India in limited overs cricket and against pretty much every other side always gets tap against Pakistan.

Apart from Virus and Bouch (just back from injury), the South African batting line-up looks in good shape for the test series. Interesting to see what the bowling line-up for the first test will be given that Lopsy came in for Parnell yesterday.

And even though he got destroyed last night and would have given Mick Lewis a run for his money if he sent down 10 overs, credit to Shoaib for completing the whole series. He hasn't missed a game for Pak coming on 20 internationals now.

was not plumb just shaving leg very 50-50 though credit to him he bowled well because when I saw his name on the team sheet I thought there were free runs to be scored.

Akmal didn't really have any chances that went to him. He looked uncomfortable collecting throws from the deep, especially on the bounce. Doesn't Pakistani domestic cricket have any other wicketkeeper prospects?

Hafeez and A Akmal added to the Pak test squad. A Akmal will debut on Friday, unless Junior Akmal takes the gloves. Any confirmation that Younis Khan will play on Friday? He was never added to the test squad...

Wayne Parnell likely to be sent home if Lopsy is declared fit for the first test. Andrew Hudson, the South African selector thinks it would be in Wayne’s best interest that he goes home and plays some domestic cricket before the Indian series. That would leave RSA with no alternative quick, so maybe Rusty will stay...

even if A Akmal plays its still a junior Akmal donning the gloves since Adnan is the third brother:)

As per cricinfo YK has been retained for the test squad which is very good news for Pak.

A bit unfair to call up A Akmal when Sarfraz Ahmed is there...

Adnan is the best pure keeper in the country by a mile atm Pakistan need a test keeper who does not shell chances and Adnan is the best option, yes he is a walking wicket but even Sarfraz has been a walking wicket in all his international outings.

I haven't seen Adnan's keeping so it was more of general comment...but if he is such a good keeper then of course...hands down should be brought in to the test side given the recent keeping chaos in Pak team.

yeah Wolmer always wanted him instead of Kamran but his batting was no more an International #10 however he has been averaging 35 over the past 2 seasons so maybe he has worked on this aspect.

Wow, funny how we never even tried him despite him being a better keeper then all we have seen...

Its kinda suspicious too now since Haider departed the way he did and another Akmal walked in to handle the keeping....LOL!
