Argh If Howard were still In he'd give refuge to Ameer

How did North get a call up ahead of say Dussy or anybody else:

Cricket Records | Records | Sheffield Shield, 2009/10 | Most runs | Cricinfo.com
the year before wasn't worthy either
Cricket Records | Records | Sheffield Shield, 2008/09 | Most runs | Cricinfo.com

I don't know why they'd do that, I get the maturity thing, maybe they were trying to create another Hussey effect.
North got picked originally because he was bowling well, and he debuted in South Africa where Australia didn't want to play a specialist spinner. He scored a ton on debut and was ineffective with the ball on that tour though so people (including the selectors) sort of just forgot that he wasn't picked due to being the best batsman available.

It's not that we can't take jokes - I enjoy a lot of your posts and digs aimed at us - but the 'Saffy' thing - it's like a broken record

**** you guys take yourself so ridiculously seriously
Pretty sure if you'd have ever actually met any English cricket fans, you'd know that they take themselves about as serious as they do the Americans. i.e, not very.

It's a boring, stupid and unfunny joke that's been done to death by idiots and it's annoying as hell.

Only lived in the UK for 3 years so nice try

The reason it's annoying to you is because the ECB had **** all to do with development of KP, Trott or Morgan and "some" would like to pretend otherwise

All have spent a huge majority of their professional careers playing for English counties, funded by...the ECB

of course you can believe Pietersen stepped off the plane a world class player...if you're a complete ******

Umm, no, it's annoying because it's been done to death by people like you. I don't give a flying **** whether the ECB had anything to do with their developement, and I don't think many other England fans do.

Hell, even Australian fans like Candy say it's annoying as.

Nonsense with the exception of Morgan and the jury is out with his development anyway

You guys hate it because it's true

Think if you count the number of cricketers that furthered their game by playing CC in England, the number would not be funny. The ECB has had about as much of an impact in developing players like Zaheer and the Husseys as the boards of their respective countries. It pisses me off when a tiny handful of these players stay and try to make it for England and are criticized for doing so.

Ha ha, I would have thought you'd have been hard pushed to argue against the input the counties have had in all three of these players developments, but there you go.

I don't hate it, as long they bring our urn back.

Nonsense how?

Pietersen and Trott have been here about a decade. Both are around thirty.

Sounds like you're the one who seems quite bitter about the whole deal. Personally, I love the fact that KP, Morgan ect all play for England.
