Don't think Johnson has ever been that accurate tbh.Except a few innings here and there,he has always been quite erratic.Seems to get a high percentage of his wkts with rubbish balls.
The important thing is that he gets wickets, though.

The problems with Clarke's SR over 2008-9 are extremely well documented to the point where even Cricinfo ran a story on it. However check his stats for this year, they're much better, he's striking at close to 80. In addition if there is one positive out of the two innings he's played in this series it's that they've been quick.

And Johnson and ODI cricket just don't match. Never have and probably never will.
Clarke clearly lacks positive intent, and his overcatious approach hurts the team, and its the case right across all the formats.
As for Johnson, not only in ODI's & T20's. In test cricket as well he has by and large struggled against decent teams. Don't know how, he can even be in the team, leave alone leading the attack.

He doesn't really lead the attack though, he generally always bowls first change. Sometimes I wonder if Johnson would make the team if he batted like Bollinger who in turn batted like Johnson..

I'm guessing that he would not make the team..

Also it's crazy to suggest that Clarke's approach to Test Cricket hurts the team!

How many of Clarke's test hundreds in recent times, have actually turned the tide of the game, in Australia's favour!?
He is the second in command to Ponting, so he is expected to be a match-winner, but under a pressure scenario, Clarke has hardly scored any runs that have helped, Australia either save or win a test.
His subdued approach allows bowlers to dictate terms, which is just not right.
I won't criticise him, if he didn't had the ability to be aggressive, but his approach to batting is highly negative, which doesn't help the team, when he is such a pivotal figure in the side.

Off the top of my head

Gabba 08-09 (close enough to 100 to not make any difference)
Sydney 08-09
Edgbaston 09
Hobart 09-10 wasn't exactly a breeze when he came out either

Yeah, he "hates Clarke as a cricketer" apparently.
Mate, its not about being uncool.
Its just that, it makes me sick to see people like Clarke and Johnson get such easy rides, when much, much better cricketers (Hodge) than them, aren't even getting a chance to play for Oz, which kinda sucks!!

I don't really get this thing about Clarke. He is a quality player, and will have a lot to do with the progression of Aus cricket in the next few years imo.

Hodge should've been in the test setup for ages IMO but he definitely isn't a "much much" better player than Clarke.

Hodge and many Australian domestic batsmen are one-dimensional and would struggle playing under different conditions.

I seem to remember Hodge being found out very quickly and nastily by the SA attack right after the 200 with short balls.

Not looking good at the short ball early on in your career seems to be a surefire way to get your Test career shortened...

Depends on what you mean by "found out". He got out in an ugly manner before stumps in Sydney when Andre Nel went around the wicket in the last over, and that was enough to get his card marked.

Yeah that's what I meant. Not suggesting that he has an inherent weakness against it - the award for 'most clueless short ball play I've seen' definitely belongs to Clarke's Mohali "effort" - but I believe that it's somewhat similar to Bevan who also, I believe, had a rather fail moment against a short ball. Something like that in your early test career and it seems, as you say, your card is marked.
