By all logic Phlegm should be optimistic about our bad team.
Calling them a bad team isn't very optimistic though, is it?

Maybe he's being so optimistic that he's completely convinced himself they're a good team and decided to be pessimistic due to that fact, like SS.

It is hard to answer without jinxing him - but basically he is facing some high quality spin on a pitch where there are footmarks. He is fighting his way through it. The other batsman did not have such a working over.

Vettori as the other left hander will also be tested.

McCullum gone. Both he and Taylor as the batsman that got in needed to go and score 80 plus. It was there duty to the team. The pitch is starting to take spin however.
