tell me about it will be playing my first street game tommorow in Pakistan after 4 years, did try to replicate it at my Uni in UK but its never the same as playing in Pakistan:)
Obviously. I doubt you can replicate that kind of cricket anywhere in the world. The joys of playing with a tape ball.

It reminds me of the good old days when I could swing that tape ball in the air and send down some nice in-swinging yorkers :) (and true to Imran Khan's tradition I will admit to scratching the tape off the surface to help with that swing somewhat :).....)..........those were the days.....

What's the street cricket like in India??? Do the play with a taped-tennis ball or only with a tennis ball???
It depends, I guess... but yeah, they use a vast variety of balls - bald tennis balls, rubber balls, cricket balls that are practically falling apart.. I also remember playing as a kid with an incredibly hard and heavy thing called a "cork ball".

I think the cork ball is the one that is the real deal. At least the red leather cherry was the one that was called the cork ball here in Pakistan.

No, we used to call the leather ball "leather ball", the cork ball was a bloody hard solid rock-like object. :)

o.o we call the regular ball a cork ball in Mumbai at least. Which part of India are you from?

If I'm not wrong people call it a season ball too. Dunno, most of the 'gulli' cricket I played in India was with rubber balls

this is very frustrating..

no mater how many runs he makes, how many balls he faces and how much time he spends in the crease.. Imran Farhat is a walking wicket.. his foot work, his style, his sloppy and slowness.. it is just a torture watching him

****ing Sefarishi peice of ****.

Tamil Nadu, but grew up in Gujarat and parts of the north. Yeah, they call it a season(ed?) ball also.

I don't know about UK. But in Canada ...Toronto and MTL has some crazy tapeball cricket...ofcourse all the Lahoris and Karachi boys participate...but its quite intense here too...especially in university's with Int'l students...
