Seems cricinfo are confirming the news about Malaria.. We are done and dusted in this game then, without our captain and regular keeper.. :(
He didn't look unwell to me when he was out there, and the TV coverage hasn't mentioned it, so I'm not convinced just yet. I certainly hope he's OK.

Whatever it takes!!!
NZ seem a rather likeable side too, tbh.. I think they are even more likeable than SL, as an Indian fan at least... Though it is harsh to see our side struggle like this and we are now almost out of this game, it is nice to see NZ do so well... Love the Dan esp. :)

The mention of "tests" on cricinfo would indicate that something is up.

Dwta. Batsmen bar McCullum and Watling are likeable, but I hate our bowling attack with a passion (barring Vettori and Bennett).

well.. I dunno about them as much as you might, but from what I have seen, they seem to be pretty nice guys.. And I like Dan a lot more than I like Sanga.. Most of the times, the team is only as likeable as its captain for a casual fan.. :)

Yeah we are usually front runners for fairest team. I dislike it when one of our players has a go at the opposition - especially if a few years ago when Bangers weren't very good and one or two of our players would sledge them.

I think our players get more feisty against the Aussies though. Too right too.

In terms of the cricket - enjoying the cat and mouse game between patel and Singh.

Strikes me as odd that a Cricinfo commentator, who more often than not isn't even at the ground, receives such information before Indian media at the stadium. Still an unsubstantiated rumour at this stage, for mine.

And I would like to think that if a player did have suspected malaria, you wouldn't send him out to bat.

Strangely (or maybe not so strangely ;) ) muted reactions to the fact that Sachin scored even slower than Dravid... Same with Laxman.. Sometimes the images the cricketers create are a LOT more visible than reality...
TBF, I thought Dravid's batting was pretty ordinary as well, he was even worse than those two until Ryder set him off by serving a couple of pies.. and Patel couldn't bowl in his half of the pitch for some reason.

Still credit to him for striking at 80 odd in the 2nd half of his innings.
