Well done, NZ, get India out for around 430 and we can have a decent game. Better than playing out the day and ending up at 500/7 or thereabouts.

Congrats to Kane Williamson for his Test wicket, and now with Laxman gone, New Zealand could have a chance at knocking the Indians over for around 450, if they can get another quick wicket.

Utterly purposeless batting from our guys in these sorts of situations once Sehwag has done the hard work. Sometimes I wish they'd just come out after a good start, go for it immediately and risk the occasional 400 all out instead of stonewalling like this. Yesterday, it was understandable for Tendulkar and Laxman to bat out time in the final session, but where was the intent today? Reeks of playing for your averages.

Assuming you'd have liked them to go the Raina route
Honestly would have preferred that. Surely we have to show a bit more intent in these kind of situations. With all respect, we aren't playing an Australia or South Africa and looking to close out a series win.

Why do you ignore that regardless of the opposition, if a pitch is slow like this, it is difficult to score quickly?

What is the rush? Are you honestly going to tell me it is better for India to be all out 400 just after lunch rather than all out 520 an hour after tea?

Well, the more time we can get to take 20 wickets with our bowlers, the better.

Tendulkar is well capable of taking the odd calculated risk (as he did against Hauritz and Johnson in the last match), why not do it a bit more? He ended up messing with Laxman's rhythm as well and by the time Raina and the rest come in, the bowlers are in a groove.

At this rate it'd take them until an hour into tomorrow to get to 520.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yep look forward to people dismissing Sehwag's knock on it being an easy pitch to bat on, flat etc.

Look it's not a minefield, but **** it's hard to get the ball away at times. Especially from spinners if they bowl decently
It is a typical SC wicket actually.. where it is easier to stay put than maybe some other surfaces around the world but just so so harder to actually score runs on than any of those surfaces.
