Arch, I was naturally interested in your review of the Bill Andrews story The Hand that bowled Bradman. I was even more interested in your final paragraph, where you invite readers to read Beyond Bat & Ball and review it for Cricket Web.

I did just that a year ago.

Will be reviewing "The Last Everyday Hero" about Bert Sutcliffe in the next week or so (when I get around to it, that is).

That was the idea. That's why I had put a message on your personal messages page on your profile...

Some of those series were seriously under-reported I thought - none more so than 1970-71 when you consider all that happened; Lawry's sacking, the crowd trouble, the extra Test, the first ODI and so on. If someone could do as good a job on it as David Tossell did with Grovel! they would be guaranteed at least one reader. :)

Sorry, have been a tad slow on this. Give me another month or so...
'twill be much appreciated whenever you can do it...

... and if you could see your way to doing Shane Bond's book after that...

.. not in any hurry for McCullum's though

... and finally

...if in that delightful country of yours you ever come across a copy of "Calypso Kiwi" by Sammy Guillen do please let me know :)

Don't really have an interest in Bondy or Bazza's books, so I'll leave it to one of the other Kiwis. I could do a review on the Martin Donnelly biography, but it's been years since I read it, so I'll do the Sutcliffe one and contemplate re-reading Donnelly (although I have 3-4 other books to get through after Christmas Day came and went).
