Guessing, one spell. So how long will he get before Aussie writes him off then?
Yes, thats the impression i have gotten over the years reading reports etc of his performances. It's pretty uninspiring. He's effective in one day cricket though.
Nothing.Other than Nannes constantly being criminally ignorned for ODIs with certain key players missing. Its an ok squad.
Not sure what Hopes has done to dropped however.
Great to see Doherty getting a look in @ international cricket though. Given i dont see AUS domestic cricket, this would be the 1st time seeing him bowl since he impressed in the 2002 Under 19 WC & since then i always saw him as future AUS bowler. His career hasn't really stepped up domestically, but looking forward to seeing him bowl after 8 years.
I don't quite agree with the assertion that Nannes is being criminally ignored for selection in the ODI's. He has never been above average as a domestic OD bowler, and I think his current record in the format is a fair reflection of his ability. A fantastic Twenty20 bowler he is, but that doesn't make him a lock for ODI selection.Other than Nannes constantly being criminally ignorned for ODIs with certain key players missing. Yes in ODI domestically has been average. But his form in T20 cricket bowling the internaitonal batsmen is something McKay & Hasting can only dream. A good T20 bowler can certainly make a good ODI bowler. Bowling in a T20 is like bowling in the last 10 overs or power-play overs in a 50 over game, where excellent death bowling is required & Nannes has been doing the world over for the last two years super well. Which is good guide as how he may go in ODIs if picked. He has everything you want in a ODI bowler.I don't quite agree with the assertion that Nannes is being criminally ignored for selection in the ODI's. Hastings and Mckay have both out bowled him at Victoria, and Starc is obviously being groomed for the future by the selectors. With a questionable injury record meaning he can rarely string two games together, I don't see why the selectors need to invest any time into Nannes. It is still nice to know that if the top six or seven ODI bowlers all went down, Nannes is still in reserve.
Moving onto tonights game, is anyone in attendance? Binger with 0/44 off 4.
Haven't seen him bowl, but what i'm gathering from people who have seen him bowl. Is that he is not bowling @ his usual 90 + mph pace ATM.Did anybody see Lee bowl?
Walked outside Rebel Sports in Garden City today and noticed a very familiar face sitting casually with one leg crossed one of the sofas fiddling one his mobile phone. It was none other than one Lasith Malinga.
As you guys know, Malinga's curly tips and eyebrow rings are a dead giveaway, but for some absurd reason I decided to walk past him stop, turnaround, walk back and stammer "Hey, are you Malinga?"" "Yeah" Awkward Pause. Knowing nothing bout the current tour - I stupidly said "Are you in Perth for the ODI's?". "T20" Awkward Pause. I decided to shake his hand wish him good luck and shuffled away.
God damn, he must have thought I was a deadset weirdo. He seemed a bit standoffish but very soft spoken.
Pretty harsh on John Wayne Hastings considering he's never played a T20 International!Yes in ODI domestically has been average. It's not even on in Sydney yet.Haha, oh how have I missed this commentary team.
Yeah he sure is. Would've played the ODIs in India otherwise. Won't be back for another four weeks or so.Is Tait injured?
