Abdv - wag. The crowd really wanted him to get that 100. Judging from his reaction, guess he wouldn't have been disappointed even if he didn't get there as long as they won. Favorite safa player.

Amla has hit 4 centuries, 2 half centuries and scored over 700 runs this calendar year in ODIs but Hash has only hit 3 sixes. A remarkable stat considering even the likes of Andrew Strauss and Imrul Kayes have hit 12 and 7 maximums respectively this year.

Both Hash and AB need 3 more centuries to score the most by a South African in ODIs in a calendar year. Gary Kirsten scored 6 in 1996 but Hash could already be on 6 given he was out for 90 odd in the West Indies and 87 in India. Only 6 more ODIs left for RSA this year so Kirsten’s record is likely to remain though Kirsten played close to 30 ODIs in 96, Amla hasn't even played 10 yet.

I know Zimbabwe has lost most of their matches but they have done pretty well thoughout the series.. If given time, this team can improve. lets hope they stick around for a while as a unit.

Hashim is going to hummer pakistan.. considering that we have the likes of Sami playing test matches.. I won't be surprise if he scores massively throughout the tournment.. things are not looking good for Pakistan here.

This has surely set back Zimbabwean cricket. A depleted SA has monstered them. AB, Ingram, Amla and Ingram have been in great form. Miller looks a find, as does Theron. Bowling has been hit about a bit and Smith is also struggling against a poor bowling lineup but apart from that SA look in reasonable shape for the Middle East. They need Steyn and Morkel back though, especially if they're to beat India later in the year.

That the same Smith that got the MoM is the first TT?

And Smith is coming off the back of a second innings FC run-a-ball double hundred. Like most of the guys he looks in superb touch. Was even nice to see JP use his feet yesterday against the spinners, which is encouraging considering how awful he has played spin recently.

Terrible series for Zim. Elton trying to draw some positives but their bowling attack is nowhere near test or even ODI standard and recalling a 39 year old who wasn’t that good when he was in pomp, was a huge step backwards and a kick in the face to the younger guys. Taylor, Hamilton and Taibu between them have probably played over 250 ODIs, they don't need Flower. What they need is Ray Price back ASAP and a stable batting order if they are going to compete in Bangladesh.

Bowling has been very unimpressive. Zim were simply beat up three times too many to compete in their second innings. Should have made use of Duminy more with the ball, like his batting, his bowling has been pretty rank since he toured Aus but South Africa need another spinner in the UAE, the WC and they can't accommodate Robbie P or even a Tahir, if their 3 quicks are Steyn, Morne and Parnell.

Be interesting to see how Kallis does in the ODIs against Pak. No real pressure on him now but van Zyl and Hudson don’t mind telling the old guard where to go and his performance in the World 20/20 still leaves a very bad taste and hopefully he will never play an international 20/20 game again.

You might find that Briony has serious issues with Smith.

Her first 300 or so posts were all about Graeme Smith. Made some magnificent predications about him as well…

imo people are expecting too much too soon from Zimbabwe. They are nowhere near ready for test re-instating, but there are positive "baby" steps occuring in Zimbabwean cricket compared to a few years ago. South Africa were always going to flog Zimbabwe in this series well before a ball was bowled, but apart from the last ODI they at least showed some fight.
