Also, another question that I should of asked in my previous post. What did Paul Rofe say the other day about the Redbacks? Something about not having a game plan? IIRC.

Great knocks Cowan and Birt here tonight. Tassie right in the box seat now.

The six Birt hit off Lee to the long boundary was massive.

So sweet it was, miles back. Super knock from Birt. Cowan was steady until the end when he cut loose. Lee was pretty average, he always has the skill to knock over a new batsmen with a quick yorker, but he was all over the place today in general.

Yeah. Hoping to see Maddinson get a few here. Haven't seen him play yet.

Poor old Phil Jaques. Has even lost his bat sponsorship by looks of it. Copped an injury at the worst possible time.

Seen a bit of Maddinson, have to say I like him. Nice technique, and doesnt have a real strength, like Hughes with his off side. Composed too at the crease. Good to see!

Well he's just played a sumptuous pull shot. His stance reminds me a little of Raina, except he has a back foot game .

Hope he kicks on.

Got out softly top edging a lap shot of Crayfish.

Krejza > Hauritz too, btw.

Just saying.

Crap shot. 2 wickets in 2 balls, GO TASSIE!

Krezja miles better than Hauritz, you gotta feel the crazy man.

Krejza gets another!

Yeah Krezja > Hauritz but Doherty is better than both. He's such a smart bowler, I think Xavier should make the world cup squad.

Went to the SCG today to watch the match. Ed Cowan was on fire - Went to my school as well btw. Most successful cricketer we've ever produced I think. NSW bowled fairly ordinary

Doherty and Krezja make a great spin combination for Tasmania. Doherty is probably the most reliable limited overs spinner in the country now, and Krezja makes a great partner through his raw ability.

Tasmania are looking very dangerous this season. Even though Cosgrove failed today, his name has given the Tassie lineup a whole new edge. No longer is it all up to Bailey, and Tasmania were a dangerous team even with a reliance on one player. Denton staying fit for the season would be a huge boost too.

Yeah, the moment I saw Tasmania's lineup for the first game this season I really thought they had something to them. They look the goods. I can see them having a good Shield season too, especially given they still have Paine to slot back into the lineup.

Absolutely brilliant ton from Wade today, off 80 balls, and brought it up in the final over with one of the biggest hits ive seen at the MCG, miles and miles over mid wicket, way back in the stand. This guy is ready made for international cricket, time and time again he not only digs the Vics out but blasts them into a good position. The sooner he is in the Aussie one day team the better. Paine for me is the next Test keeper, but Wade just has it NAILED in odi's. Could be a IPL star too.

Big win for QLD over SA today, pleased for Lynn making his highest score 70 today. Christian got his maiden ton in OD Cricket too, but didn't bowl an over.

Go Dan Christian, hope he has a killer season.

SA must be 20/20 specialists, because they sure do fail at anything longer.

Edmonson not proving much of a recruit at this stage is he? Been very expensive in all forms so far. So has AO'B for that matter. SA bowlers struggling with their length this year.

Bowled fairly well in the two one day games against NSW and Tasmania, particularly the latter. I think Edmonson will come good tbh, George's return and his economical bowling will help Edmonson greatly.

Pretty dire way to lose in the last over like SA did . Christian, Putland and Cooper were all big positives from the game, the fielding and to a fairly lesser extent the captaincy ( Not bowling Christian), was really really poor and could've possibly costed SA the match. Duval's fielding was attrocious for his standards just quitely.

Top order continuing to be woeful so far, there has been starts from them at best. The middle order has been fairly solid but the top order keeps starting poorly. Borgas could face the drop soon as well.

NSW lost as well. :(
