*Official* Australia in India 2010

Yeah, India should be congratulated on winning a very good test match. A little disappointed our bowlers couldn't get us up in the end, but the days of McGrath, Warne, Gillespie leading us into the last day in this position making a win almost a certainty are long gone.

Laxman and Ishant did very well.

Thoughts on Indian XI for next test? Straight swap of Pujara for Laxman if the latter won't play. What about the bowlers? I don't think Ishant is going to be dropped, unless injury related.
Yeh, if Ishant is fully fit, he should stay. He can spend the next few days working on this no ball thing too.

Sharma is known to be crap tbf.
Picked up 3 top order wickets and turned the match around = not crap, fluke or not. Then, there was his batting effort.

Sreesanth is a gamble even when he's fit, let alone when coming back from injury. :-O

Ponting and Watson to be rested by Aussies for the ODI series with India.
Interesting. Clarke's first full overseas ODI captaincy tour if I have it right?

Maybe he can actually bat decently then. Has looked better this year, upgraded from "terrible" to "average".

Said this many times now but not fair to blame the fast bowlers. They were gun.

Overall, what he did was pick three wickets @ about 40 each. Agree, top notch batting effort. I'm probably being a biased prick tbh, have hated Sharma and loved Sree for too long.

It's breaking news on Sky Sports news now.

Obviously one eye on the Ashes with resting these two guys who no doubt form a pretty crucial part of the ODI side.

if Australia can comeback from this then I will have even more respect for them can't believe how shattered they must be.Should be 2-0 India comfortably barring any miracles.

Oh and on that, don't think anyone could be under the illusion that "oh they'll be distracted by the Ashes" that some people seemed to be under pre-series. Definitely not the case at all.

Whether he fails or not, Sharma deserves another chance for his efforts, especially now since his confidence will be sky-high.

Yeah, I'm certainly not blaming them, it was a very good effort. It was more a comment on how coming into the last day in that position it was disappointing not to get up.

Well Ashes will be not be of this standard thats for sure.... Its better for Auzz players to absorb some EXP here....

As WC is near by their youngsters need some Exposure to Indian conditions.....

Ah crap.

Vijay, Pujara and Sreesanth. The batsmen both a step down from the injured ones, Sreesanth is an unknown quantity right now.
I back those three to be able replacements. Vijay is the one on loads of pressure though, a crucial failure could mean that Rahane leapfrogs him as reverse opener.

I don't aye so you're probably right. But in the T20s or ODIs he keeps delivering when needed. That's certainly colouring my perception of him. Am just so tired of seeing this team collapse to low scores against bowlers who really aren't the greatest around.
Yeah, at the same time my perceptions could be clouded of him as well as I could have missed many innings he did stand up in tough conditions. He deserves a chance to play in the middle order, no doubt (after Klinger though), I just don't think he'll solve the collapsing problem. TBH the best player that can help with that is Watto, but spin's an issue there plus we lose the stability up the top so better leave that one alone for now.

Definitely. Take this on the chin though, it'll be probably mostly fond memories that I have for watching this test. Feel privileged to have seen it.

Why comfortably? Makes no sense to say that after a match that went right down to the wire.

Tbf, it was just one of those days where nothing went Australia's way when Ishant was on strike until the last ball so I dont think that you can blame the bowlers too much

100 to win with only Ishant and no. 11 to come and Oz wins 49/50 no matter how well VVS plays (and he played brilliantly btw)

This just happened to be the odd occasion out

He means they'll win the 2nd comfortably I think.

Horrid luck losing Bollinger at that stage. Had we fielded the full attack for all of the post-lunch session reckon we would've eased home.

Yeah, Rahane's in scorching form right now. I'd be pissed if I were Mukund though. There was a good case for picking Mukund ahead of Vijay back in 2008 too, it did puzzle many people why they picked the wrong opener as replacement.
