Game might be over this evening if Sehwag gets going. How has it come to this? At lunch it was still a contest.
2 of our top 3 gifted their wickets off crap deliveries when we were in control and the rest succumbed to good pressure cricket

It's a basic of cricket that you place a value on your wicket and some of the Australians dont - simple

Damn, was hoping Bollinger made 6 more runs. That way, North would have contributed the least with the bat in this Test - 10 runs.

TBH Zaheer yorker for Ben will trouble any kind of batsman.....

Need to bat today ideally without losing wicket.....

If Sehwag faces 80 balls it is all over.
Yeah but he doesn't do that very often in the second innings.

There are lots of situations where Sehwag does increase the chance of victory more than a player of similar quality but dis-similar style would, but chasing a smallish total in the second innings isn't one of them. A really consistent opener who'll guaratee you 50 (or better yet, a two such players) is preferable in this situation really as a ton opening partnership would put the game beyond doubt. Sehwag is a) dire in the second innings of games and b) not terribly consistent anyway. If Australia can knock him over early which, for all Sehwag's awesomeness, is more likely than it would be with a different type of player of similar quality, it'll really open the game.

He's a gun bat so he'll obviously be a massive factor but I see Tendulkar and Dravid as bigger players in this situation. Not every situation makes Sehwag more valuable than another player with a similar average. This is one circumstance where a more consistent player averaging 55 odd would be a bigger asset.

So much for India's 'weak' bowling..the bowlers have set this match up for them.
So true. Bowlers have been fantastic.

Especially when you consider the missed chances (drops, missed stumping, fielders not going for the catch, wickets off no balls).

It's quite something that even though Sehwag has been absolutely imperious in the last year...he still sucks in 2nd innings - averages in the 20s.
