Goddamnit, still pissed of at Ponting for being so rash...

He just HAD to make a statement against Sharma by playing a pull shot didn't he...

If he didn't do that we wouldn't be in this mess of a situation.

Shot was on to be fair. Just ****ed it up completely.

Clarke's wicket still rankles. 100/2 and I'd say we're still in a good position, especially with Clarke being capable of actually scoring at a clip. Not so much now.

Not sure exactly what Ishant is doing to make Katich take his hand away from the bat every ball. Haven't seen all this morning's play, did he get rapped on the knuckles?

Whatever it takes!!!
There's no place for deliberately provocative posts like that, HB...

That smiley isn't a license to make mischief you know..

Bring it on bitch!!!

Need to liven up this series tbh.. When you got Ponting and Harbhajan making controversy free press conferences, you know your world ain't right!!! :p

Yup, reading cricinfo it sounds like a storm in a tea-cup if they're still going on about the no-ball
Nah, even though it wasn't out, if they're referring when they aren't sure, that should be referred and the extra run removed. Calling no balls when they're not there is stupid. The consequences can be huge. So that pitched outside leg, doesn't make Bowden's decision any better.

Now the ****ing sun is interfering with the satellite signal. Happens twice a year apparently. Bloody astronomical phenomena, ruining Test cricket. :@

yeh but c'mon, first few balls. Pull shots are exactly the highest percentage shots to play especially when you've just got it. Watson got us of to such a good start...

Hussey hitting some boundaries now though, he is due for a BIG innings, and he better deliver!

If the shot is on you've gotta play what comes naturally to you. Otherwise you just get yourself in an awful mess and look what happened in that case...

Yeh but most batsmen just block balls and hit singles for a few overs to get themselves in. Tendulkar always does that brilliantly.

Btw what does everyone think would be a competitive total for the Indians to chase?

It was a long-hop mate. It deserved four.

Supposing they have all of tomorrow, I would say 350 is on the cards.

actually Ponting's wickets should be credited to good bowling from Sharma.Every one knows Ponting is suspect to getting out to the pull early on the bowler knew the plan and then implemented it well.

Yeah, gotta agree that the pull was a poor choice of shot that early in the innings, even if you're Ricky Ponting. On a fourth day wicket with inconsistent bounce, a new batsman should always be looking to use a few balls to play himself in and avoid the temptation to play that shot early on.

Agree it still makes Bowden a muppet (but what's new there), but over-analyzing it when it effectively had no impact on the game is redundant, especially considering the run-of-the-mill poor decisions that do cost teams wickets don't usually get as much analysis.
