Well it's good that Johnson has given us a shot, albeit a long one, at jagging a win.

It would be great if we could use this test as the start of the climb back towards our rightful place at the top and end the historical accident that is India's brief intercession at number one in the world rankings.

I have no trouble accepting Harby's word. He's always been such an honorable fellow. Truly, he's just beyond reproach. Apparently they asked Sachin what was said but he heard nothing

Eyes not spreadsheets
Seeking to clear air over the altercation Zaheer Khan had with Ricky Ponting, India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said the issue was a misunderstanding on the part of Australia's captain.

Harbhajan said Zaheer's remarks were not directed at Ponting; the pacer was just talking with teammate VVS Laxman.

"I was not there when the incident happened. But a teammate told me that Zaheer was telling Laxman 'you are Usain Bolt'. Ponting thought it was directed at him and came back asking what did he exactly say," Harbhajan told the official match broadcaster before the start of the second day's play in the first Test in Mohali on Saturday.

The exchange of words came after Ponting was run-out on Day 1 of the Test.

Shane Watson pushed the fourth ball of the 42nd over towards mid-wicket and called Ponting, who was batting on 71, for a quick single. Before the skipper could make his ground, Suresh Raina's throw hit the stumps.

Ponting was walking back towards the pavilion and turned back after hearing Zaheer's comments.

With the Indian players gathered in celebration of the wicket, Ponting walked back pointing the bat at them before umpire Billy Bowden intervened.

Harbhajan, who was involved in the infamous 'monkeygate' scandal with Andrew Symonds, said he was 'lucky' not being around when the incident happened.

"I was having a drink at the other side. I only came to know about it later. But these things happen in cricket, but I believe, for both teams, playing good cricket is priority," he said.
Hmmm, firstly I wonder why Zaheer was calling Laxman "Usain Bolt" when it was Raina that ran Ricky out.

Secondly, looking at the video of it, all the Indian team are stood in one group, and Harbhajan is about yard away from Zaheer.

Who knows? Maybe because he isn't the most fleet footed guy out here? Maybe Harbhajan didn't hear him, and found out what happened later.

Oh really who cares. Zaheer acted like a douche, end of.

The cricket has been fascinating, absolutely no need to get distracted on ****ty nothing issues.

Johnson's a freak. He bowled pus for long periods yesterday and today and still took a 5-for.

I'd select him ahead of Zaheer because he's a more multi-dimensional cricketer, but better bowler? Hmm. Debateable at best. Way more inconsistent.
Definitely the most dangerous looking bowler on show though, was confused why he was kept out of the attack so long, especially as his last two overs before tea drew genuine edges from Sachin.

Doug making me eat my words.

Anyway, looks like a 90% chance of a draw.

A chance that India may pull off a miracle though.

Smith in for North in the next Test.

Love Watson's cut.

And more quality stuff from Ishant "no ball" Sharma.

Good to see wattos batting with some intent. I bet he will go out and the aussies will slow right down and blunder along for a draw.
