***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2010/11

Don't forget Cassel.

Who, incidentally, took a couple yesterday.
Don't think Cassell will play much in the shorter formats for the Redbacks, well not this season anyway. The SACA need to manage his workload very carefully as he is a quality bowler at his best. Should play most of the 4 day games though as the longer format is his fortae, especially if George is out with the Australian squad.

Shame about tait, cutting not back either.
Still can't get over 12 players for the new one dayers, qld side packed with batsmen/allrounders.

Australian news: Shaun Tait out for two months with elbow injury | Australia Cricket News | Cricinfo.com

Tait out for 2 months. Now that really hurts the Redbacks chances in the One Day Cup, Putland, Edmondson, George and Haberfield will be in the runnong to play now with O'Brien and Christian the other bowlers.

Richardson will probably play at some stage to.
Hopefully Tait is back in time for the ODIs vs ENG starting on Jan 12th. I guess this also potentially opens a window for Lee back in the ODI side for the WC, if he comes back bowling at his usual pace.

Also looking ahead to the ODIs vs IND & SRI coming up. Dirk Nannes should be the Tait's replacement.

20/20 cricket may go on the anti siphoning list as well as a few other sports occasions, soccer world cup warm ups,so fox will lose out here.
I gather either 9 or 10 will bid for it.

check out the online australian for story, the anti siphoning list comes before parliament shorty.

SA futures team.
Um lee retired from first class cricket and tests.
Nannes played 1 one day game for vics team last year in onedayers, pretty much a 20/20 professional, doesn't seem to be a vics choice, but an inspired pick yes.
IIRC following the FRC last season, it was injuries that restricted Nannes to only 1 or 2 List A games last season. But he certainly see's himself as more than just a T20 specialist, which is right - can offer the ODI team alot looking ahead to the WC

Only problem with picking him is that you already have 2 other left-armers in team & i think most teams would be highly reluctant to play 3 left-armers one time.

Brad Knowles out for the season in WA.
Nannes won't play for Australian in the ODI format. I'd hold your breath before making any judgements on him, wouldn't be surprised if his decline is quick. He's been nursed big time through the last season or so, and will be pretty much held on to by Cricket Victoria only for T20.
