Think the team instructions to bowl to Raina must've been: doesn't like it up him. Kid looks bit gun shy.

Will ton up now, obvz.

I highly doubt that.

It's the captains call most of the time ,unless the batsmen is desperate to go out .

Besides Sending Ishant in in the second last over is a good move. As if he sticks around tomorrow morning,he is more likely to contribute from here than he is at the end of the innings.
Always found that it's generally suggested by the captain, and the choice is left to the batsman.

Johnson, once the third best paceman in the Aus attack (after Lee and McGrath) is now their main bowler. They still win a lot, but they're a shadow of their former selves.

Sehwag's at 37 already?? WTH.
And McGrath was once the third bowler behind Brendan Julian and Paul Reiffel. They all start somewhere.

so Doug trouble Raina with pace in the first over and Ponting brings in his part time seamer who is the slowest of the lot.His captaincy sometimes is really dire.

I'd let Johnson have a dart at Raina before he's set here. DtR was def inconveniencing him with the short stuff.

EDIT: Lol. Ponting and I are clearly singing from same hymn sheet.

Raina must love batting on this given what Tait did to him inth Windies.

Been good, hard cricket this match. Excellent to watch.

Haven't had much internet access over the last two days until now, and checking CW on my phone is a bitch.

Interesting to see some of the reactions from posters throughout the last 2.5 days as the game has ebbed and flowed. Lots of momentum shifts.

Yep, very true. Important to remember however that Raina has no pressure to score runs off the short ball, unlike T20s and ODIs. I think it's the key to how he'll handle the chin music in the longer form, and how he'll (imo of course) be a successful player.

Will never be brilliant at the short ball, but even on bouncy wickets he'll learn to cope.

Yeah true. But I'd just like to see him hopping around a bit.

Doug was tops that last spell.

Agreed.

Even Ganguly learned how to cope with it both in ODI's and Tests to a large extent.
And Raina is better than Ganguly at the start of his career against the short one.

What genius thought it was a great idea to build a stadium 2 Km away from a runway threshold? Not as if it's just bugsmashers landing there either.

Man that's frustrating, another one falls short. Not much they can do, though. If you take two steps forward, the next one will go through a teeth height guaranteed.
