Proneness to injury is a big concern at this stage though. Plus he'll probably get jealous of Sreesanth's general awesomeness when he the selectors wake up; that could effect his game.
 True.

Had an inkling of suspicion about Sree and Zaheer usually being injured together tbh.

No.. most of the time it is the batsman's call...
I have never seen it reported like this " Batsman A elected to send the night watchman in for the last few minutes". On the other hand i have always seen "Captain A elected to send the night watchman in"

Look, it may be or it may be isn't. But to imply that a batsman who has played for 20 years scoring at an average of 55+ is a coward is just third rate mischief making.

Is this where we start throwing wild accusations around as to the possible former identity of the suspiciously familiar seeming new poster?

Yuvraj got out on 4 against the Mumbai side today. Considering they posted 650+ he probably won't get to bat again. Good signs for Pujara, Tiwary and Raina

yeah.. because having a night watchman go in with an over or two to go is what defines cowardice.. Really.. So Sachin said he ll go in tomm morning and let a night watchman play out the 2 overs left.. big deal!!!

Would be nice seeing these two teams going head to head in England.
Should have a Test World Cup in England. Only let the top four or five play it to cut down the ridiculously long time it'd otherwise take. What a great couple of months of cricket that'd be.

Might be an incredibly dumb idea, but if Paine really succeeds with the bat over this series, perhaps he could slot into the no.6 position instead of North and Haddin back into no.7 with the gloves.
Paine certainly wasnt the best batsman out of the keepers playing fc cricket in Oz last year so credit to the Oz selectors for recognising his talent/temperament

Having said that, I need a good scrub

Have to say that India's fielding and Dhoni's keeping was absolutely deplorable - they really should've had Oz out for 200

To make matters worse, much of it is simply because they are lazy buggers and wont chase hard etc

Really very poor stuff from a bunch of professionals
