Doesn't get better on second or third viewings, does it? If one's primarily an off side player why try to fetch that onto leg. Daft batting.

Ishant an odd call for nightwatchman? He done it before? Chance to prove that he's good for something tho, I suppose
He's done it before. Stayed not out and came in the next day scoring 30-odd against South Africa.

EDIT: Did I dream that up? Hes batted at 3 once and scored 1.

He was concerned about Johnson's away movement (I know that sounds odd) and was determined not to play an offside stroke, yet didn't want to get bogged down and tried the crossbat shot.

Basically he was frustrated.

this is the best Dravid has looked for a while if he's in touch he is the most immovable batsman in the world.

Haha now Dravid slashing at a wide one last over. Weird as.

Sobers, Ponting, Lara, Kallis, Viv et al never needed a nightwatchman at 2-100 on a featherbed like this either.

Just saying...

160 Test wickets for Johnson who equals Bill Johnson. Who was the better bowler?
Fastest left arm paceman in history to 150 wickets bowling "nothing" balls on flat decks

Batsmen must be absolutely **** these days

Could've left it quite easily; started outside off and was only getting wider.

Given how close to stumps it was (2 overs left?) and the lick he's scored at "frustration" doesn't seem that likely as a cause for a brain implosion.

TBF, they asked Tendy to bat but he had his selective hearing aid turned on and ignored them

TBH Johnson does have a knack for fooling batsman into thinking he's bowling much straighter than he actually is.

Fairly pleased with todays play.

Great batting by our bottom half. Was extremely worried with Sehwag slashing us around but with both openers both in the sheds do I dare say advantage Australia? Dravid looking dangerous I must admit though

Johnson picking up the wickets but still got my money on the house (literally) if he can just fix his line a bit.

That was batting at 10 or 11, I believe. Added a few runs for the tenth wicket with Sreesanth.

He was night watchman once before against Australia and Stuart Clark promptly went round the wicket and bowled fast leg theory. Ishant clearly wasn't remotely up for the fight and was bounced out within a couple of overs. The commentators lol'd that it would probably be the last we saw of him as a night watchman and he hasn't done it since.

Zaheer is such an awesome bowler. Imran started becoming an epic bowler when he was 29/30 innit? Before that he had a couple of awesome series'. Zaheer's only 31 atm. Has the england series behind him. Wishful thinking and all that, but he looks very good atm.

It's a captains call....

you have no point, other than coming across a small minded fan with an agenda

Proneness to injury is a big concern at this stage though. Plus he'll probably get jealous of Sreesanth's general awesomeness when he the selectors wake up; that could effect his game.

Was afraid of how he would do coming back after injury and all that, but he's looking really good. If he goes India should just consider bowling with four spinners and doing away with a pace attack completely.
