tbh, I'm at the point right now where I don't care if I don't see another limited overs match
Haha yeah, same. I like limited overs cricket as a nice change of scenery from time to time and in my ideal world we'd still have a bit of it and just not take it tremendously seriously, but having none of it at all would be a vast improvement on the current state of cricket.

I never realised no radio coverage from ABC Grandstand. What a disappointment, the coverage from India in 2008 was superb.

I lack Fox Sports too, going to be a dull experience listening to some dodgy internet feed or watching ball-by-ball on Cricinfo.
See you at the Tower.

Yeah, will migrate my office to the uni pub. Bit weird on the ABC's part, not like they commentated much last time though, just went on about Katich bowling and Krejza getting a game.

p.s. if Bolly doesn't play I'll be livid, although TBH he doesn't deserve it after missing the practice match.

Tendulkar and Sehwag have been in Bradman-esque form over the last one year.

Sehwag's scores are:-16, 51, 131, 293, 52, 45, 56, 109, 16, 165, 109, 31, 99, 109, 0.

1282 runs @ 85.46 with a SR of 97

Tendulkar's scores are:- 4, 100*, 40, 53, 105*, 16, 143, 7, 100, 106, 8, 84, 203, 41, 54

1064 runs @ 81.84

Sehwag was also far and above India's best bowler in the recently drawn India-SL test series.

Really think they will pile it on in this series too.

Australia's tail looks really capable of hanging in in Test cricket. That could be a vital factor in this series.

Averages aren't too important when discussing tails though, it is whether they are capable of that 30-50 that can change a low scoring contest or push a team into a first innings lead and Johnson and Hauritz are both capable of that.

What the stats don't show is just how fragile our line-up can be. In the Ashes we had the better stats for both bowlers and batsmen...and we saw how that panned out.

Despite what those stats may say, Dravid and Gambhir are terribly out of touch atm and I hope they gain some form ahead of the SA series.

Laxman, though, is in the form of his life and is only going unnoticed because he is being overshadowed by the exploits of Tendulkar and Sehwag.

Tbf though, Our tail has proven quite a handful to Sri Lanka in the recent series and the likes of Harbhajan and Khan can drag on for a bit particularly when the pitch is not doing much.

IIRC, Harbhajan averages 22 against Australia too.

Mithun obviously hasn't developed enough to be a potent bowler in test cricket as of now, but his batting has come as a pleasant surprise to me. He was batting with maturity and got out for well-played 40s twice. Potential bowling all-rounder material IMO.

India's bowling form over the past one year

Zaheer Khan - 32 wickets @ 27.37(7M)
Harbhajan Singh - 27 wickets @ 46.25(8M)
Pragyan Ohja - 21 wickets @ 42.80(6M)
Ishant Sharma - 21 wickets @ 28.28(8M)
Amit Mishra - 16 wickets @ 52.25(5M)
Virender Sehwag - 10 wickets @ 33.30(10M)
Sreesanth - 10 wickets @ 34.80(3M)

The bowling looks terrible. Heavily reliant on the form of Sreesanth and Zaheer atm.

It should be noted that 7 of Sehwag's 10 wickets came in 3 matches against Sri Lanka @ 27.57 when no Indian bowler apart from him averaged below 40.
