***Official*** T20 Champions League in South Africa

Cooper 19 off 5.

Brilliant.

Malinga, Zaheer, Harbhajan and Bravo can't even defend 48 from 24 balls. Brutal.

Was still a full toss at the death.

Zaheer has been poor at the death for a while. Never mentioned his opening spell
Low fulltosses >> half-volleys TBH... it took a lot of skill to execute that shot. Not to mention they even picked up a couple of wickets with fulltosses.

Meh, you're an international bowler. Hit the blockhole tbh

Nah, one more over for Malinga would have got SA groping. 4-22-2 is bloody impressive as it gets. Unluckily he has only four overs, Others conceded 160 off 15.3 overs in a whopping RR of 10+!

I'm clearly not blaming Malinga, he's a superstar. But Jeez, you'd expect 4 consecutive overs from that lot to not let 48 from 21 balls or whatever.

Also a catch dropped (by Sachin who led the fielding effort by example :() and four needless byes conceded off Malinga's bowling.

I think we can come to the conclusion that let your spinner bowl in the final over is a massive gamble.

haha, hilarious! I love it when the star-studded IPL teams gets stuffed by a bunch of nobodies. A team of champions != a champion team, IPL ****s. O'Brien will no doubt be dining on Sachin's wicket for a very long time.

Loving the form Max/Mass opening partnership, both blokes in good touch too. SA selectors looking even more stupid for not picking Max all of last season. The guy is a top quality player no matter the form, FFS.

EDIT: As if to underscore how the SA team is full of nobodies, Cricinfo has Max on the front page but they're saying it's Harris.

EDIT2: Just watching highlights, notice Bailey is driving through the crease a lot harder these days. Bodes well for the coming FC season.

Queue a five wicket haul or fifty from him in the near future, but from what I have seen, Christian is bloody useless. He has just one T20 fifty and looks a pretty rubbish bowler.
Ridiculous thing to say. He's there to provide some hitting power at the end of the knock from around 6 or 7 and bowl tight meds. Has one of the best yorkers in the country and is a decent field. The value of a contributor like that goes well beyond his stats.

There's definitely a big role for someone who bats at 6, or especially 7, to come in and get 20 off <12 balls. Crosthwaite used to be great at it for Victoria, and it's a difficult role because you come in with the death bowlers on, and the field completely spread so it makes it hard to find the boundary. Christian is good at doing that.

It's why it's not particularly relevant when people look at averages and 50s for guys who bat in that area, the only time that they'll be able to build an innings is when the team is up the creek.
