See now you are arguing against yourself. Thet saw plenty of Donald and Pollock and that didn't help them much. Steyn is better than both and Morkel has improved markedly.

200 on a highway? We don't do those in SA.

And how exactly is India's popgun attack going to take 20 wickets?
Oh please don't give me the flat track crap.

Steyn has an average of 20 in India which suggests he is good in such wickets, because his length with his searing pace pretty much negates this flat slow track crap theory. Against him, Sachin creamed a 200* in hot humid condition remember.

BTW, speaking of highways, where were you when Aus vs SA (436 playing 438) happened?

Popgun attack as in 2006, when we let only ONE SA batsman to average above 40 in that series???

lol... if they can take 20 South African wickets on those Highways in India... I'm sure it won't be such a big deal taking 20 wickets in South Africa.

Steyn and Morkel higher than Donald and Pollock...... I'd think the latter is better attack.
Please read what is written. I think you will see that I said Steyn is better than either of them.

You are trying to equate test wickets to jamodi tracks?

So my question remains,

Indian bowlers in the 2006 test series didn't let any SA batsman barring Prince to average above 40. That's popgun?
Statistical oddity. The Wing Commander has been to SA 4 times and still averages below 40.

If anything the Indian attack has gone back since 2006.

And who won that series?

Lets try and keep this constructive, guys. No need to bring ODIs into things, it's just going to blur the lines of conversation. Avoid "flat track sub-continent" stuff as well. Posts like that will be deleted henceforth.

Fair enough, I was trying to talk tests anyway.

There'd be scarcely anything left to debate then :p

1. Agreed, SA and Pakistan are two places where Sachin has not done as well as he or his fans would like him to have.
2. Not if we have Sree, Zak and Ish fit.
3. Irrelevant, we lost that series primarily because our batsmen didn't do their job, than our bowlers being popgun.

Sree cannot stay fit. Sharma has gone far backwards since he was in Aus. And anyway none of those 3 match up to Steyn or Morkel and maybe even Parnell.

Or you lost because the SA bowlers were too good.

Sharma hasn't gone anywhere. He has been playing on flat tracks for so long and thta is going to have a detrimental effect on his numbers.

Why don't you check the records of visting fast bowlers in the last decade in India? Pretty sure only Steyn will stand tall amongst the ruins.

We lost because SA bowlers were good also. Nobody said no. But fact is the present contingent is not as feared as the then contingent was. Ask Sachin whom he'd like to face Pollock or Steyn, and pretty sure the answer would be Steyn.

The Wing Commander... where did that name come from ?
Sachin is who you are talking about i assume?

Exactly great fast bowlers are great on any tracks which is why I don't rate Sharma. He has been burnt out with ODI's and TT's.

Not so sure about your last comment.

Will Zaheer and Sree be fit though? If they aren't, then it's a waste of time afaic comparing the two attacks.
