Wozniacki's good and deserves her success but God she's dull to watch.

The women's draw is ravaged with injury, no Serena, no Henin. I hope Kim wins it.

I'm putting a bucket load on Kim and Sharapova. Pretty sure it'll be one of them.

Azarenka seems to always fall when she should win.

Sharapova is in form, and had match points vs. Clijsters recently in the final of Cincinnati
I disagree. Top to form to me isn't up a set and 5-3 and losing it and then getting shlackled in the 3rd. Also Maria is still struggling with 1st serve percentages and double faults. Needless to say penciling her into the quarters is about as generous as you can be with her.

Fish and Gulbis in the semis would make me orgasm.

Doubt it'll happen, but would be so awesome.
Haha yeah it's not that likely I guess. but I didn't want to pick 4 of the top 6 seeds or so!

I really do like Azarenka in the women's though, I think it's her time to shine, I'll be putting some cash on her.

Just looking at the seeds, I can't believe horse Jankovic is fourth seed still!

What first round matches are must see do you think?

I'm keen to watch:
- Ferrer vs Dolgopolov I saw Dolg at the Brisbane International and I've been surprised to see him do quite well.
- Hewitt vs Mathieu
- Chardy vs Gulbis
- Troiki vs Djokovic - Hope Viktor wins.

*Currently can't read the last section of the draw as it's come up with forbidden access on the us open official page.

C-Woz is another of those players who plays a million tournaments to get to number one, eventually suffers burnout, and under-achieves in the Slams, like Safina and Jankovic.

Clijsters should be the favourite, but it would be nice to see Venus roll back the years.

AWTA, but I think C-Woz ain't burnt-out come slam time. She's still very young and only been to her first slam last year at the US Open and you know what they all say: You have to lose first before you win.

she is representative of women's tennis in general: dull, mindless baseline bashing punctuated by ear-piercing primal shrieks....
Dull - Slightly yes, as much as I love her I will admit that.

Baseline Bashing - Yes

Primal Shrieks - Slightly. I'd rather listen to her than the Williams or Sharapova.

She's not really a basher.. she relies more on her defense and her movement. I find her dull because she rarely goes for winners.

Yep. Can't blame her if it works for her. I don't have to like it, though. :p

I also have my doubts on whether it will be good enough to bring her major success.

True enough it never won Gilbert a grandslam but it got him #4 in the ATP rankings and helped make him the best coach of all time pretty much.
