I think i remembe him saying something of the sort yea. But i'm taking it game by game with Scholes. Indeed there is no guarantee he will be playing this well for United come 2011/12 season or even if he will still be a player for United. So the same bloke who 12 months ago himself said he didn't think he'd last more than 1 season you think is going to be around for another 2 years when he's not got the international breaks to give his body a rest?
So it depends, like Capello said here: Fabio Capello leaves it up to Paul Scholes to decide his England future | Mail Online
I'm in no rush to get him back right right now TBF. Reckon we can qualify for Euro 20102 without him - unless Scholes himself feels he can take on the extra strain of playing for ENG again. But come the 2011/12 season & he still playing & playing as well as he is now, he must be in the EURO 2012 squad.
Ha i see. I have sort of lost interest in his progress after his WC performace for France TBH. Not living up to the "new zidane" tag well. But it will be interesting to see how he goes @ Lyon.Craig said:Sorry aussie, but I see Yoann Gourcuff is now a Lyon player after his €22m from Bordeaux.
The entire City team was crap againts spurs - i'd put that down to early season nerves & rustiness. Sometimes you got to back your intuiton & go on a bit of raw talent instead of domestic form like in cricket (England picking Morgan for tests, without no real FC form).roseboy said:Re: Richards , he needs to have that string of performances. You can't risk him going back to what he was doing in the qualifiers unless you see sustained improvement. Against Spurs he was hardly brilliant right?
TBF its hard to develop when your team has been relegated. He was certainly one of the Magpies best players in the championship last season.BoyBrumby said:Looked like he had potential 2-3 seasons ago, Taylor. Never really developed.
Obviously having a teammate bust his jaw rather suggests issues on one side or other too. Carroll staying, is all I'll say.
Still one of our better young defenders i reckon. Would certainly rate him @ his best over the likes of Cahill, Jaigelka, Smalling, Shawcross
