Willis probably had the better career, but I would have loved to have seen Thomson bowling with Lindwall and Miller!

On an unrelated note Willis and Thomson are both better than Tich Freeman.

An excellent batsman with an average for England of 46.06 over 41 tests who was a regular for England in the lower middle order, scoring two hundreds at 5, three at number 6 and even one when batting at 7 - all of which makes him ideal to fill the final slot of my XI and to boot was a left hand bat which means my top 6 has a nice balance of three righties and three lefties. He was also a more than handy SLA bowler for Yorkshire with 466 wickets at 29.31 though his test figures were far less impressive, but he would be someone useful to throw the ball to for a few overs if necessary.
