*Official* Pakistan in England 2010

Riaz should just concentrate on his batting instead of exchanging with the English players,he was doing it when he was bowling and started bowling all over the place.
The England bowlers started at the wrong ends once Jimmy changed he looked a lot more threatening and Broad had all his success last year from the other end.I wonder why they did that.

Prior plays so extraordinarily beautiful shots. Love him so much.

Was impressed by Riaz, lol@Yousuf drop and that 6 from Hameed made me want to vomit.

Swann to rip through them tomorrow.

Hope Hameed shows some fight tbh. Yousuf dropped someone? FFS

Like the look of Wahab; has a proper fast bowler's build: broad shoulders, barrel chest and good sized aris. Puts me in mind of Hilfenhaus, slightly or a mirror version thereof. Gets good bounce and carry and seems to rush the batsmen regularly.

With an eye on the Ashes I think it's worrying that it was the bounce as much as the movement that troubled our top order, cos we'll see plenty of that this winter.

Top knock from Matty tho. World's best? That the suggestion isn't laughable shows how far he's come.

I'd love to see a proper replay of Ajmal's quicker delivery - with his action, I'm extremely dubious that he can bowl his quicker ball at 70+mph without throwing it.

Ha, reserve doubts about his standard offie, frankly. Horrid, horrid action.

Yeah, yeah, broken record; I'll stop mentioning it when he stops chucking it.

I really want to see Hameed do well and solidify his place in the team...some of his strokes or so sweet to watch...yeah he was struggling but being thrusted into the team and sent to open against the high flying Anderson and Broad would make it understandable.

Wahab did a great job for Pak today...its funny how we keep coming up with these bowlers...tbh i was surprised at his 5 wicket haul at not so supportive pitch..

If Pakistan can get a lead of around 150 runs (very much possible if Butt and Mo Yo can post some runs)....we may just have a chance...All in all this is going to be a cracker of a test if Pak gets any kind of lead above 50 runs.

It was just rank batting really. They played at practically every delivery Pakistan bowled - apparently only left 8 balls all morning. Cook just looked horrid, his body was getting right back on top of the stumps and the bat was going the opposite way, ending up miles in front of himself. Trott drove at a wider one whilst on the walk and was barely getting forward in the process anyway. It was just a poor all-round display.

I've got to agree ,when I watched the replay of Englands' wickets, apart from maybe 1 delivery, most were missing the stumps and a lot were poor deliveries.England need to learn when to go hard at the ball and when to leave well alone especially when it became obvious the ball was moving when the sky became cloudy. All that was needed this morning was to see off the new ball and batting would of come a whole lot easier as demonstrated this afternoon

Jury's out on Riaz as a character, for me. Came across as a bit of a dick with the sarcastic applause (on debut) to England's no.10 batsman, but I liked the smile with which he batted. Could be a bit of a card, this one.

Or perhaps they were forced to play :naughty:

Just checked out the highlights..loved the way Hameed smacked some cover drives...that six cracked me up big time....TBH, England lucky to be at 233 courtesy Prior, the only batsman who knew what he was doing...Broad played a risky 48 could have been out much earlier the way he was swinging wildly..Also liked the way Riaz had been in the face of England players while bowling and batting..looks like a wierdo sometimes but effective....i was surprized at the pace he bowled..was pretty decent pace...

Crossing fingers for Hameed to score a fifty at least...

Not really..thought his attitude to be in the face of English batsmen paid him off well today...you could tell that English batsmen were getting intimidated by his talk..wonder what he was saying..

I'm a big fan of Hameed simply because he's never made a Test duck before.

Amazing that with his record (averaging 35) he couldn't get back into this Pakistan lineup until now.

Yeah they've always treated him as the red headed step child through some of his best years. He's twice the Test batsman that Farhat ever will be and a better complement to Butt.

Well he only averages 30 if you take out Bangladesh, and he only averages 36 in First Class cricket. People talk as if he's unlucky to have been dropped or what have you but he was actually pretty damn lucky to get picked in the first place and although he's never been given a consistent run, he's never really warranted one IMO.

Do you really think that someone like Farhat or Iqbal is better than Hameed? At least he hasn't totally failed yet....those two did....
