And secondly, however good the team you pick, you can't win a match unless you can take 20 wickets. So the most important consideration is how many wickets your bowlers get per match, and unless that adds up to 20 your team isn't going to win anything.
So, basically, it would be stupid for anyone to pick another batsman until their bowling line-up adds up to 20 wickets per match.
This was followed by statistical analysis of each team, based on wickets per match and runs conceded against runs scored, conclusively proving that Somerset has chosen a crap team, and that Barnes is the greatest cricketer in history.
